Longhorn smokehouse is new restaurant located within Wrest Point.

We’re taking a modern approach to the traditional flavours and ‘low and slow method’ of Southern American BBQ. Sink your teeth into the best grilled, smoked, and baked meats, sourced from the finest local producers. All against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent.

In other words, it’s your classic American smokehouse, done the Tasmanian way.

Grab the night by the horns.

Our team live to grill and smoke Tasmania’s best meats to perfection. We have homemade rubs and a curated range of sauces to complement every dish. And you can pair it all with delicious beers, playful cocktails, and wines from around the globe. We pride ourselves on down-to-earth hospitality that makes you feel right at home. So, just bring your appetite and some good company. We’ll take care of the rest.

                                Another excellent meal and service. Great seating to take advantage of the view. Food is tasty and cooked to perfection. Be careful not to eat too much as you keep going back to your plate even when your body tells you that enough is enough.

                                The Tasmanian scotch fillet with fat chips was delicious. Cooked medium perfectly accompanied by native pepper sauce.

                                The food was good! Minor things could have made this a 10/10 experience. The beef burnt ends were quite tough. The smaller pieces were the best as they would fall apart. The lager ones were just too firm. The steak (scotch fillet) was cooked to perfection and was beautifully seasoned. But the sauce that came with it (sundried tomato) was too salty and overpowering. Other than that it was a great experience and would highly recommend.

                                Fantastic service and atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. We attended as a party of 7 for a friends birthday and we all had an excellent time. The drinks were delicious and aesthetically pleasing, as was the food. The chicken wings are to die for, as is the rest of the incredible menu. Will definitely be returning! Thank you to Suez, Isabella and the other waitstaff for a wonderful experience.
