Lucca Osteria & Bar is the vision of chef and veteran restaurateur, Claudio Ulivieri and his partner Steven Hartenstein. Raised near the Italian city of Lucca, Claudio’s passion for food began. He brought this passion to the States, and started his culinary career as a chef. Now, after decades of creating menus and running restaurants, he and his partner have opened Lucca Osteria - tapping into his roots - to share his favorite rustic Italian flavors with you. On Tuesday, April 29, we invite you to experience the flavors, ingredients, and winemaking traditions of Toscana in a five-course dining experience that captures the essence of this beloved region. Our culinary team — led by Chef Claudio Ulivieri who was born in Lucca, Tuscany — has curated a menu that balances the rustic charm of Tuscan cuisine with the freshness of spring. Think hearty pappardelle with wild boar ragù, crisp spring vegetables and ramps tucked into tender calamari, and a show-stopping filet dressed with whipped lardo and peposo — a rich black pepper sauce born in the heart of Florence. Each course will be paired with exceptional wines from some of Tuscany’s most iconic producers, including Tenuta Nozzole and Tenuta Sette Ponti. These thoughtfully selected pairings are designed to complement the earthy, bold, and refined flavors on the plate. Whether you’ve been following our Giro D’Italia series from the start or are just joining us for this special event, this dinner offers an unforgettable taste of what makes Tuscany so timeless.     Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Lucca Osteria with a Tequila & Mezcal Dinner on Monday, May 5 from 6:30 PM–9:30 PM. Enjoy a five-course dinner expertly paired with handcrafted cocktails and neat pours featuring Don Fulano Tequila and Derrumbes Mezcal — two of Mexico’s most celebrated agave spirits. The evening kicks off with a Build Your Own Margarita Bar and continues with standout dishes like lobster ceviche, cochinita pibil sopes, and braised bone-in short rib with mole. Each each dish is paired with a handcrafted cocktail or neat pour that highlights the unique flavor profiles. Weather permitting, the event will be hosted outdoors on our beautiful patio, with live Latin music creating a vibrant, festive atmosphere. In case of inclement weather, seating will move to our main dining room. A night of bold flavors, exceptional spirits, and lively entertainment awaits — don’t miss it!

    We were there to celebrate a milestone birthday and Deanna took really good care of us. They honored our Open Table request and sat us at a fantastic table. The food was delicious! Great night had by all!

    It was our first time at Lucca's Oakbrook, and I have found my new go-to restaurant. The drinks were amazing, and the food was incredible!! We had the charcuterie for an appetizer. It was outstanding. The meats, cheese, and olives were high quality, and even the crustini were warm. Pappardelle pasta was homemade and wonderful. The chocolate lava cake was warm and delicious. The noise level in the dining room was great. I love not having to shout to talk at the dinner table. The bar area is loud, but it's a bar, so you go with it. I can't wait for the summer entertainment and to enjoy the outdoor space.

    Lucca Osteria & Bar has become my family FAVORITE Italian restaurant in the western suburbs. It has become a tradition for Easter & Mother’s Day. I may stop by the bar at other times throughout the year. 😂

    Everything we have eaten at Lucca has been delicious. Their preparations and flavors are special. I consider them extremely fine dining. Don't pass up the opportunity to dine with them.

    Food tasted great, but the value for the money is pretty poor, although some items on the menu reasonable. Biggest issue was feeling rushed - barely finished the last bite of food for both the appetizer and main course, and the wait staff came to take plates and ask if we wanted the next course. I get it was a holiday (Easter) but for a >$200 bill for 4, expect a higher level of service.
