Located in a historical home in the resort town of Dana Point, California, Luciana's Ristorante has been serving the Orange County community for over 40 years. The decor is reminiscent of a cozy European-style inn, establishing it as one of Orange County's most romantic restaurants. Awarded the Southern California Restaurant Writers gold medal since 1996, three stars from the California Restaurant Writers, Zagat's Survey "America’s 1,000 Top Italian Restaurants 2008" and an Award of Excellence for its wine list, Luciana's has been setting the standard for classic as well as innovative Italian cuisine.     Hostess that seated us was very rude and not very welcoming. We asked to be moved to another table since we were in the patio and it was cold because we were in a spot where the wind came threw and she acted like she was doing us a favor - really a very poor attitude!!! Our waitor was new and really didn't know to much, he was making excusses for everything, sorry for the slow service, etc! We come to this restarant several times a year and never had such a poor experiance!!!

    The staff always makes us feel so welcome. José was very attentive and patient with our talkative group. The trout special was delicious and we were warm and toasty on the front patio. Love Luciana's!

    Food was horrible and over spiced with garlic. Not a positive experience and hostess was ignorant as well.

    The bucatini matriciana was sub par. Pancetta was cut into big cubes and chewy… should be strips or smaller pieces so that some of the fat could be removed in the frying process. Bread was cold and butter not spreadable. We sat in the tented area which was nice and comfortable. It was a minor inconvenience to have to go to the main restaurant to check in when you are parked next to the tent.

    We sat outside on the patio, weather somewhat cold even with heaters on. Food was fine but we have had better meals here in the past. Wine was very good. Have had better service in the past. Overall, ok but lacking something. ???
