I was severely disappointed during my last visit to Luxbar. This was always my go-to spot when I lived in Old Town, so surely I had to visit knowing I was in the area again. The drink I wanted and the pigs in the blanket were both not available, the steak that I ordered rare came out medium well, the salmon was undercooked. The only part of my meal I enjoyed was the one part that didn’t need to be cooked - the shrimp cocktail. I’m sad the quality of this restaurant has clearly gone down in the last couple of years. Not to mention, our waitress was not the most welcoming. Unfortunately that was my last visit.

We were seated at a high top table that was too low for the height of the chairs. Food was good and the restaurant was festive. Service was slow and they forgot one of our entrees. The restaurant was so loud it was really hard to have a conversation.

I love Luxbar… but if you take a primetime spot you must expect it to be LOUD. Even in the non-bar part. I don’t mind it but the person I was dining with was very bothered. I wouldn’t take sensitive people there between 7-9. One complaint: when you make a reservation on Open Table, you choose between standard and high top. When you arrive, they will probably ignore if you selected standard and try to put you at a high top. They are very nice about it, but I don’t like that they ignore it. I just always insist on a low table or booth.

Had a 6PM reservation and waited 45 minutes for our table. Kept being asked if we wanted a high top near the entrance but we made this reservation a few months in advance and one of the guest was 8 months pregnant so wanted a regular table in the back. Unfortunate experience. Been many times and never experienced this. No apologies for the wait. Bummer!

Very good food and service but it was so loud! I would have preferred the main dining room over the area next to the bar section. Very crowded in there.
