   American style Italian food, creamy, salty, too much of everything. Servers were nice but not trained properly on timing. The appetizers were served very quickly and since the tables are small, we had to eat with menus on our laps. Never offered dessert or coffee and before we could even inquire, the bill was on our table. No choice of coffee or espresso other than regular coffee…Italian restaurant without espresso?? Server came to our table to take orders and never checked back until are were almost done. The food was so heavy that my daughter and her friend both got indigestion and sick overnight. Disappointing experience all around.

   Service was cheerful, friendly, and spot-on. Our meal was well paced. Ambiance was warm and charming. M is clean and tidy and welcoming. Husband and I each ordered a drink (he had a cocktail [well-poured!] and I had a glass of white wine) and the cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer. The bread was as advertised--cheesy and garlicky, and the marinara dipping sauce was terrific! Thick and flavorful! He ordered the wild arugula salad and enjoyed the added goat cheese, walnuts and dried cranberries, tho' he said the dressing was too citrusy; he'd have preferred a more balsamic dressing, one less orange-y. I tasted and agreed. I ordered the French onion soup and while it came with the bread and cheese, the soup tasted like Lipton onion mix. Hubby, who is Italian and a lasagna snob, ordered the baked lasagna, of course; I ordered the rib-eye medium rare. Both were quite sub-par. The lasagna serving was large and looked cheesy with a rich meat sauce, but had little depth of flavor. My rib-eye was slightly tough with no marbling, so no yummy flavor there, either. We ate at a few other places over our three days at Catalina Island and all were over-the-top great! We were disappointed with Saturday night's dinner.

   Hostess greeted us and said Happy Birthday to my wife as requested on my reservation, Shrimp cocktail was amazing with fresh homemade cocktail sauce, red wine by the glass was great, Manicotti was good, filet mignon was great and cooked perfect, rock lobster tail could have been a little more firm/ fresh. Server never recognized my wife’s birthday and could have been a bit more attentive.

   The food was very good. Especially for Avalon where I have not had the best meals in the past. We went there both for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed it both times. We sat outside in front.

   We were in town for the Catalina Marathon (10k/5k) and wanted a nice/healthy dinner before the race. We made a reservation earlier in the week, they were able to get us seated a few minutes earlier—the restaurant was quite full. Our party had the Tequila Shrimp Pasta, Chicken Parmesan and Arctic Char (Tuscan Style) and everyone enjoyed their meals. A fabulous place for a d special occasion dinner complete with drinks, dinner and dessert.

   Really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere (it’s the off season). Service was great - Joanna was super friendly and attentive! Food was well prepared and served well. Was also very tasty. The only reason for 4 stars were the quality of cocktails. Other than that everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.

    Beautiful restaurant and very romantic ! We sat outside with our pups in the candle lit brick courtyard with a gorgeous view of ocean and casino. Italian harp classics playing it was perfect for husbands birthday, the food was also delicious! We got the French onion soup and chicken Parmesan and chicken Caesar salad. Most romantic restaurant we have ever eaten at :) gets our highest reviews
