We had the most wonderful time. Our server was incredibly nice and helpful. The food was delicious and abundant. We couldn’t even finish everything, but I will be dreaming about that pastries for a long time!

Great afternoon tea. The tea selection is very good and they let you drink as many tea as you wish. Everything we tried was delicious. I recommend the Alice tea and white rabbit tea. The food is very good. And lots of it. You can feel the high quality of the products. It’s not only food, it’s an experience. We came here instead of lunch and didn’t need anything else. Service is very good, very attentive and lets you know about all the things you can re-order. I will definitely come back again.

Such a disappointing experience. Having enjoyed afternoon tea at other lovely venues I found the Sanderson’s offering to be far below the competition. The venue was outdoors in the middle of winter so was freezing even with outdoor heaters. We moved indoors where there was almost no ambience. The hotel is tired and a bit cheap looking and the serving staff were dressed very casually in jeans. While the service was ok and the staff were polite it felt very far from a high class offering. This may have been more acceptable if the price was reasonable but it’s priced far too expensively for the low class of experience. While the Alice in Wonderland theme sounds great in theory and the cakes etc were tasty the vibe overall was very kindergarten level but with a 5 star price. I would not recommend coming here for an afternoon tea. There were 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) and our total bill was £240. Save your money for Fortnum and Mason or others.

The idea of this was lovely. The serving staff are lovely and mostly quite attentive. There is a wide range of drinks and they do offer top ups super regularly. The food sadly was a bit of a let down. The sandwiches were average and the parmesan and truffle one is very sickly. The puddings were all very sweet and although had a slight hint of the flavour they were aren't to be but sadly not quite up to the standard expected given the price. Overall it was a nice experience. The venue is pretty naff from outside but actually nice inside. They offer blankets and comfy seats, but it does get cold on the winter so take a thick coat!
