Did the Valentine's menu, didn't expect it to turn into a McDonald's due to it though.
The entire evening was rushed through, we were shuffled through a 3 course meal in under 45 minutes, when the default for restaurants at this level would be you actually get to enjoy the evening, you have the table for 2 hours. This felt like they were maximising turnover to try and cram as many people in as possible.
The menu itself was also not that amazingly executed. Fillet steak with the only options being medium or well done, and the medium I got was very much a medium well. Why even offer fillet at that point, just get ribeye that'd benefit from it. The chips on it came out room temp as well.
The dessert had "lava cake", we didn't spot the "cold" in front of it, so got effectively a frozen puck of chocolate cake with ganache in the middle. Not sure whose idea, but felt pretty disappointed by it, why call it lava cake, the "lava" is the key word in the name there. It's just a slab of ganache if it's cold.
Live band was also pretty loud and made it hard to hold a conversation throughout, but I'd forgive that if the food was in order and we weren't rushed through it to free up the table as soon as possible.
Only good side was service, no notes, pretty spot on there.
Overall for ~£150 pp plus drinks you can get SIGNIFICANTLY better options in London, Brasserie Zedel as a particular example will do much better and probably for cheaper. Any of the Ramsay grills around the same area will be around the same price point, offer fillet steak the way it's supposed to come, and not serve room temp chips with it.
