Magpie & Stump guarantees a classic Banff experience complete with tacos, tequila and debauchery. This little piece of Mexico in the mountains serves up tacos, burritos, enchiladas and over 60 tequilas.

In the summer months join us on 'El Patio' - our sun-drenched rooftop taco bar. Open-air starlight fiestas are also our area of expertise, serving up margaritas and cervezas under the Banff sky.

    We booked reservations for 7pm for 2 at a standard table for my GF’s birthday and we wanted the taco Tuesday because we had seen the tacos are supposed to be amazing and for $3 can’t complain. We ordered the queso as an appie and it was delicious and we would get again. Then we each ordered one of each of the following tacos chicken beef and pork. The pork was our least fave it had no seasonings it really needed salt. My gf’s fave was the beef because it had a green sauce that gave it some flavour but the meat again wasn’t seasoned. My favourite was the chicken but it was still lacking flavour. Also the corn tortillas kind of suck because they just fall apart, but I guess it’s good because they are Gluten free from those needing them. I don’t think we would come back here. We were thinking about getting the taco Tuesday margaritas for $6 but they seemed small anyways so we didn’t bother.

    The service was great, the food was pretty good, the salsa was blazé. The prices really disappointed me, a quesadilla for $30, no sides. Sad.

    10/10 place, we tried to walk-in on Taco Tuesday but it was (understandably) very busy. We made a reservation for the next day and couldn’t be happier. The tacos were all amazing, and so were the nachos (get the chicken tinga added)! Fave restaurant in Banff!

    Amazing deals for taco Tuesday. We had margaritas too. Service was quick. Our server was fantastic. Gave good recommendations and also gave us info on where to watch the hockey games. Great ambience. Highly recommend.
