TLDR: Terrible service, unprofessional staff and mediocre food for a restaurant at Four Seasons. Basically unacceptable.
Booked a table for four, two of us arrived on time while our two friends were 45 minutes late (we were tourists and they got lost). We felt horrible and did apologized, but it was too much and even rude when the servers asked us FOUR TIMES to "confirm our booking". (Meanwhile, only at the THIRD time we were introduced the menu)
Ordered a glass of Merlot, strangely the server did not offer us to taste the wine and immediately poured a glass. (And it was not just us. We saw the couple next to us ordered a bottle of champagne and there was no tasting either (same server)). For a Four Seasons restaurant that was utterly unprofessional. Not sure if they even have a sommelier, but even if not the server could have done better.
Food was mediocre. Ordered four dinner sets which included one canapé, one entrée, one plat and one dessert for each. Except for the freshly baked madeleines almost all dishes were lukewarm (including the onion soup - how was that possible?!?!). The best dish was the chicken liver parfait which was silky and aromatic... Beef wellington was good too (despite it was lukewarm, again)... But in general, food quality was sub-par at this price range.
Service was the most terrible of all. Obviously they were understaff so service/refilling of water was slow (except when they bombarded us to "confirm the booking"). We even have to wait for a good few minutes to catch a server to check the bill...
Finally, paid the bill and the server returned with the receipt, signaled us to take the receipt OURSELVES by TAPPING on the bill. Wow. Even in convenience stores we were HANDED the bill with a thank you.
Well, all I can say is that it's a miracle this restaurant survive in Japan with this level of service (a place where customers is GOD).
