The beginning waitress was rude and inattentive and she paid no attention to anything we asked for…but the one we got after was great. Our orders were all messed up. And after multiple mistakes we decided to just leave. It was my moms birthday and she got no acknowledgement until we complained to the manager about the bad service we received. He did fix things by getting my mom a free drink and taking care of our bill, but needless to say we will not be returning to this restaurant, nor will we be recommending it to anyone. It’s supposed to be high end, and with the prices they dish out, it should be better organized and the service given should be held to a higher standard. Do better!

Wait staff was awesome but dishes were not coming out on time. Everyone got their food except my husband who got his 20 minutes later after everyone was done eating.

Our bachelorette group LOVED every minute of dining at Mama Por Dios. The music, the vibes, all of the food/drink presentations were amazing! The service was outstanding as well. Never been to such a unique and fun restaurant before. Will definitely be back if ever in Scottsdale again!

We made a reservation for 5pm and arrived at 5:14. I know we were late but we drove an hour and 10 minutes to get there with an unexpected detour. The hostess was rude and scolded us for arriving as our grace period was over and said our time was limited to two hours at the table. She took us to our table and left. It was our first time there and didn’t realize the menu is a little business card with a QR code on it to download to our phone. Daisy came over and was super sweet! She made our experience much better!! Explained a few things to us and took our order. It was not busy at all but we felt rushed. Our food was cold, our drinks were mixed up, and the prices are ridiculous given their rules and expectations. They didn’t have any of the desserts we asked for so we had to stick to the churros which were a little too crispy but pretty good. It was a great atmosphere for pictures and I still enjoyed my birthday with my family but I will not be returning there by choice.

The place looked very cool, but it was all downhill from there. We were hesitant to go because of the 3.6 star rating in the first place, and now we understand. Server was genuinely nice, but forgot our little requests several times. So there was hardly anyone there and it took an extremely long time to get our food. Very strange for being about 25% full. When the food came. the presentation was great, but the food was horrible. They brought a fried lobster in the shell and they had nothing to offer to actually get the tail out of the shell. I asked to have the shell cut, so I can get the tail out and they brought it back cut on the underneath side. By them it was cold and chewy. The flavor of authentic type of Mexican food was lacking big time. Was all pretty bland. No unique flavors. Bill was $250.00 for 2 meals, 2 non-alcoholic beverages and 1 appetizer. Robbery!!! We drove 45 minutes from our home and was a complete waste of time. Upon driving home, I started feeling sick. I was up all night long coming out of both ends. Too bad a great looking restaurant has horrible food. They need to change the menu or at least the recipes. Or maybe the cook. Good luck!!!!!

My wife and I went on a Friday night. At 6pm it was still very quiet. The bar area looked amazing. I had the octopus, very tender and tasty. A bit overpriced but worth the visit.

It was nice the place has a lot potential. Service could have been much better, our group was about 12 ppl and it was kinda pain that we were not allowed to have separate bill. Some needed leave early ect and it was hassle …. Tried to pay for appetizers ahead time to avoid them being added to group bill and was told I couldn’t do that. Smh food was good though… probably better experience to go with small group.
