Good food and service, but a poor table choice put a damper on the overall experience. Despite booking two months in advance and arriving exactly on time we were on a tiny table under a red light right by the start of the stairs. Thankfully the manager came to apologize and offered us a dessert, which was appreciated.

One of our burgers was ordered medium came out rare. Ask to swap for a salad and 30 minutes later nothing to eat. Our waiter was great trying to wait on most of the upstairs on his own. No management around, no help. Just have overbooked, and most definitely understaffed.

I am from the South where we know a little something about "soul food." The Mangy Moose may not be like the traditional southern soul food, but it is certainly food for the soul nonetheless. Great atmosphere, speedy superb service and great bar, all in a casual, friendly environment. What's not to like? Prices are reasonable, and we got some local craft beer called the Moose is Loose or something like that, some Bison Burgers with fries and something you must try if you go because you won't find it many places...Elk stroganoff! I am telling you...food for the soul!

This was an extremely disappointing dining experience for Christmas Day celebrations. I feel the automatic gratuity sacrificed quality service. We were so ignored we had to go to the bar ourselves to get more drinks. Refills needed multiple reminders as the server stood over getting a shoulder massage from another employee. For the cost food quality was unimpressive. I would not recommend. Super sad as we have enjoyed the rest of our Jackson hole adventure immensely.
