By Renowned Mexican Chef, Enrique Olvera, Manta is the culinary centerpiece of The Cape, A Thompson Hotel. With an intriguing double meaning, the manta ray symbolizes the kitchen"s focus on seafood, while manta, the Spanish word for blanket, conveys the chef's emphasis on comfort. Acknowledge by the New York Times for his "way of confirming and subverting expectations of Mexican food at the same time," Olvera has drawn inspiration from the izakaya tradition to introduce a pan-Pacific concept of Mexican cuisine. The intimate, richly textured space features a dramatic exhibition kitchen and a curated beverage menu focused on mezcals, tequilas and sakes.

The food, ambience and service are all excellent but I was not expecting Manhattan prices. Shows what I know for sure but $240 for Napanook Cabernet?

Manta is the epitome of luxury dining. The views, the service, the food, the restaurant ambiance, all were nothing short of exceptional. Our server had the perfect balance of checking in and did not disturb us. The restaurant itself was beautiful with an ambience that truly gave the luxury dining experience. Kudos to the chefs, the food was absolutely ecstatic, perfectly described, and beat expectations of taste. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the food, the views, and thank you to the staff of The Cape Hotel for extraordinary service to us. Will be back most definitely!

On a second visit to Manta, the experience was stellar as experienced 2-3 years earlier. Elegant space, food of the highest caliber, attentive and friendly service. For a serious foodie, this is a 10+.

Manta was a phenomenal culinary experience. We did the tasting menu and every dish was unique and delicious. The sauces, presentation and flavors were stunning and I can’t wait to go back.

Manta is always in my rotation every time I visit Cabo. The seafood dishes are always so fresh and delicious. The mix of flavors just hits!

On top of one of the most amazing views in Cabo, Manta also has the best food and amazing staff. We recently spent a week in Cabo and dined here nearly every evening. The food is that great! Joe and his team are second to none providing an upscale dining experience you won't soon forget. Don't hesitate to book Manta for your next night out.

Food was incredible. Wine list was outrageously priced however (there were wines by the glass that were priced more than an entrees), so we ordered a lot less wine. That was our only complaint.
