Margaux is a modern European restaurant/wine bar. The French/Italian inspired menu includes seared foie gras, house made pork terrine, porcini risotto for appetisers and seared scallops, grilled veal rib and Barolo braised beef as some of the main courses. 100 bin wine list covers a broad range of producers and grapes, with an emphasis on old world wines. If you don"t want to stretch to a bottle there are over 25 wines by the glass and carafe. The dessert menu includes a dark chocolate plate featuring cocoa in 7 textures, passion fruit crème brûlée and amaretto sponge cake and a selection of house made ice creams. The weekend brunch menu features classic such as eggs benedict and eggs royal, smoked salmon, french toast with cinnamon ice cream.

                      Pretty substandard. Food was mediocre, the seared fois gras was overdone, so the consistency was wrong. There was a short black hair in my cod main course. Tarte tatin was not what it claimed to be, soggy puff pastry surrounding stewed apple, the only hint of caramel was from the caramel sauce squeezed over the top. None of the tart was actually caramelized. The two servings were removed from the bill, without asking, which was good. The service was friendly but sloppy. We repeatedly had to ask for our wine to be topped up (white wine not left of the table). To top it off, one of our party was violently sick shortly after eating here.

                      Perhaps the beef bourignon and the service are the only 2 things we will come back for!

                      Wonderful Octupus starter, heavenly mix of textures and taste. Lovely salmon and gyoza. Superb rum cocktail La Passion. Great service.

                      Very good and well executed food Nice dining room, efficient staff The tatin was not my favourite take (I prefer it more on the buttery//caramelised apples side), too much rosemary, and cocoa nibbles But overall some good food

                      We really like eating in this restaurant. The food is very good but there always a feeling of being rushed. We could been out of the place within an hour. They could just slow it down a little bit.
