Discovering Italy by way of La Jolla, Marisi focuses on Italian hearth cooking with an emphasis on handmade pastas, fine wine and classic cocktails. The menu celebrates the rich diversity of cuisine from across Italy, fashioned in a time-honored tradition of handmade all day, every day. A dream that lives between the Italian and La Jolla coasts, suspended between tides instead of time — a mood more than a plot.     Fabulous food, great service and beautiful restaurant. The noise level, though was extremely loud!!! However, we will be back ! This is now officially our favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego now for sure.

    Overall it was a good experience. The apps were very good but the snapper was not deboned properly and the pasta a bit salty.

    varied menu with lots of good choices, Caesar salad was excellent, 2 pastas we tried were both delicious. as were the fish and scallops we had as mains. Service was excellent

    Rarely do we find a restaurant we can say was perfection on every level. Marisi is just that place. We were greeted with warmth upon our arrival for our reservation and were seated immediately, despite a long line of walk-ins. Our table was set beautifully and our server(s) were professional and knowledgeable. From cocktails through dessert every dish exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were beautifully crafted, the dishes beyond delicious and the homemade pasta to die for! We had an opportunity to meet Assistant General Manager, Karley Maes, and thanked her for the training of staff and the noted attention to detail that was notable. Upon speaking with staff, everyone acknowledged admiration and respect for the organization. We also had a moment to chat with the bartender. He was proud of the set-up and proliferation of high-end brands that were even in the well. Can’t wait to return.

    Great food and drinks. Our party was 2 people, we split two appetizers - focaccia = 10/10, Burrata = 8/10 (it had a Smokey flavor that was nice, but a little overpowering). Two Pastas - Bolognese = 10/10 (recommend a non-sweet wine to go with this), and Campanelle = 10/10. Portions are perfect, we left with leftovers. Ambiance is also great, 3 separate vibes - back of restaurant was more traditional indoor Italian cozy, middle was modern bar/open kitchen tall ceilings, patio was modern cute lighting well covered/heated. Staff was great and attentive. We did not feel like dinner service was rushed which was great (aka - we were not rushed through apps/dinner/dessert - the delivery of each was spaced out perfectly).

    Gem Caesar salad had a sour flavor. The Foccacio bread was excellent, though very salty. The pasta was fair and a bit heavy for my taste, the bolognese sauce was tasty. The honey nut squash could have had more flavor. The wine by the glass selection was very limited as well. The service was excellent as the server offered to replace our Caesar dressing with a lighter version.

    Been here 3 times and the food is tasty. I love the beet salad with smoked goat cheese. The prawns are also great and the drinks are solid, if pricey. I love the look of the restaurant and the location.
