The starter and main food was good. The wrong drinks were bought out twice and the wrong desserts. In the end we received one dessert of 3 and had to cancel the other 2. The service seemed fraught and disorganised. I would return as the good wad good but the service needs to improve and be more customer-centric.

It's a very. nice place to eat the staff are very nice friendly and the bar very spacious and the food was very good

A great vibe in this welcoming pub setting. Roaring fire and environment makes it a welcome break from London bars. The waiting staff are happy and happy to serve! The roasts are delicious. Try the sticky toffee pudding - it’s amazing

We loved the surroundings, this is a cosy pub with old fashioned feel but with very high quality of food. Usually this is a quiet option - the Marquess is off the beaten track and has the vibe of a place where locals in the know go. This time there was an event on in the back room (a wake) which meant it was very crowded and a bit louder than usual. So it was not what we expected, having visited many times before. But it did make me think that if I had to choose a venue for a wake then this would be on my list. Overall an excellent dining experience - I just hope it doesnt get too well known or we wont be able to get a table!
