I had a truly delightful experience ringing in the New Year at Mastro’s Ocean Club in Downtown Los Angeles. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, enhanced by elegant decor in the bar area, thoughtful party favors, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Despite the busy holiday rush, the service remained impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring a seamless and enjoyable evening. As always, the food was exceptional, elevating the entire experience. I highly recommend Mastro’s for anyone seeking a memorable and high-quality celebration.

Never gave us steak knife’s to eat even though we asked multiple times. Just boxed our food up and left.

Whenever we have the chance we go to Mastros, the food is delicious, the service and having spent New Year's Eve there was very special.

You would think they were ready for NYE. Ah boy. Total chaos, angry stuff, empty tables and still have to wait for 1 hours just to be seated ( this is with a confirmed reservation), and another hour yo get the food. With a name like Mastro’s, the logistics of running a restaurant should be very easy

It’s new year eve and I understand. Service is slow. Our server forgot our cake and added 20% service charges with party of 4. No valet parking. Food is ok compare to other location.

We booked for a last min trip in LA and know NYE can be overwhelming for places but the service was absolutely awful. I have worked in restaurants and worked a NYE shift but there was no excuse for the lack of attention we received. Mastro’s usually is a trusted meal when I am on the road 125+ nights a year but will not be going back to any of their locations again. Our server never asked for a second round or more of cocktails, my wife had to clear the app plates off our table, they did not bring steak knives or new silver wear & then having to remind a server for the bottle of wine we ordered with our steaks and then it arriving when my wife was done with her steak is not acceptable on any night when you are paying over $600 for 3 people. Funny thing is we would have spent even more, shame on them!

Considering it was a holiday the service was slow. They should anticipate a crowd on NYE !!! Our hostess was dismissive when I asked to be seated away from the bathroom and kitchen which historically is where they place black people. If it wasn’t for my friend going to ask up front we would have had a terrible experience. The hostess didn’t even try!!! We had a party of 5 so we were there to spend $$$!! I never leave reviews so u know I’m perturbed. Overall we had a good time because that’s just who we are. But they need to do better. And I’ve been to other locations that were on top of the service.

Filet mignon tasted like sirloin. Very disappointing. Have been to a lot of Mastros but this experience was not great. The only saving grace was the service was great but the food…not so much.

Our food and service was superb! The atmosphere was romantic and family friendly if celebrating an event. It was a lovely little oasis in Downtown LA

They refused to let me sit in the dining room because my friend and I were wearing caps. We were dressed nicely but apparently not fit for sitting in their dining room. The restaurant is located across the street from the Crypto Arena so this archaic policy makes no sense. How does wearing a cap interfere with the “dining experience” or ambiance? I’ll just take my business to Flemmings. Otherwise, the food was comparable to what you would find at high end steakhouse but at a premium. The drinks are really expensive but what you would expect at a place like this. Just not worth the hassle based on how we were treated.
