First let me say that I have many family members in the food and beverage industry. We had a 8pm dinner reservation for Christmas Eve and we arrived 30 minutes early. We were offered a spot at the bar to wait or they had a table available. We took the table. There were a few open tables so for our experience the staff was not slammed. There were 3 of us, we ordered drinks and 2 appetizers to start. The appetizers took almost 30 minutes to arrive followed by our drinks. Calamari was over done. The mozzarella was good. We ordered a bottle of wine and our entrees. The wine took 35 minutes to arrive. At this point we had been seated for 1 hour and 45 minutes and no entrees. A manager came by and said they were working on our ticket. When our entrees finally arrived we had been seated for 2 hours and 10mins. The wait staff was franticly clearing and resetting tables for the next day as they were closing at 10pm. Food came out kind of warm and quite frankly was not worth the wait so I asked for the check.
Our entire stay in the restaurant was 2 hours and 35 minutes.
They were not short staffed. They were not slammed and we were very understanding, allowing them to work though this. A 2 top and 3 top sat down after we did and they left before we got our entrees.
I do not blame the server who really tried, however I do blame the 3 “managers” who could have helped expedite things.
I understand this was a holiday but that is why we chose to eat out and experience good food and service. We received neither.
