Opened in 1991, Max a Mia was named “Best New Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine in its first year, and “top-grossing restaurant in its size” by Restaurant Hospitality. The restaurant is now in the good hands of Executive Chef Bob Peterson, who has brought an exciting new energy to the restaurant.

Max A Mia is the quintessential Italian experience in the Greater Hartford area. It also continues to garner awards and accolades. Featuring a traditional Italian menu, it utilizes an authentic brick oven that produces stone pies with unmatched flavor. Traditional veal, pork and pasta dishes, as well as inventive risotto offerings, set the mood for desserts including tiramisu and white chocolate polenta cake.

From the greeting by Hostess Jennifer and the service by Bonnie we had a great evening. The meal I wanted had an ingredient I was not familiar with. Bonnie explained it to me and I did not seem interested so Bonnie suggested an alternate. I loved the dish and next time I will try the spaghetti neo. The 4 of us had a great night at the table we requested along with Bonnie!

Scallops dinner with gnocchi was outstanding. Steak special was also outstanding. My wife loved the salmon, but could not finish it. Service was great.

As good an experience can be. My wife and I have never had a problem dining at any Max restaurant over the years! We will always continue to frequent Max-a-Mia restaurants during our retirement!

We were greeted and seated promptly. The menu was complete in spite of the holid a y season. Rounded out with delicious food and expert service. Thank you 😊

Very good Italian food in a warmly lit, family friendly place. We had two seafood dishes, both of which were nicely prepared and full of flavor. Excellent, friendly waitstaff and fast service.

Great food and great ambience. Christmas Eve was packed so louder than normal. Our server Talia was terrific. Food was delicious and everything was quick for being so packed full during the holiday.
