Featuring modern renditions of classic American seafood, Max’s Oyster Bar menu has something for everyone. While seafood is the focal point, there are selections for even the most ardent landlubber. Ethnic influences are apparent throughout a menu filled with new interpretations on traditional fare. The raw bar offers an extensive variety of bi-coastal oysters and shellfish.

In it’s freshman year, 1999, Max’s Oyster Bar was awarded “Best New Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine. Since then it has won numerous Reader’s Choice Awards, including “Best Seafood Restaurant”. Zagat’s Survey has also given Max’s Oyster Bar an “extraordinary” rating.

    Max Oyster provides a consistently good - excellent dining experience. The menu is creative, the food is prepared well and the service is very good. The ambience is perfect. Although not cheap, the price is justified by the value overall. We always look forward to dining here.

    The oyster sampler was incredible, our entrees were also amazing. Cute outdoor seating with excellent service.

    Very disappointing! Went to celebrate my sons birthday and prior to my sister in law have cancer surgery. Couldn’t find candles for birthday surprise and bill was incorrect, took 30 minutes to correct. Had to ask for bread and crab legs were a claw. Stay at home. Wasn’t worth 460 dollars!

    My favorite restaurant of all of the Max Restaurant Group. The food is always delicious no matter what you order. And definitely need the beignets for dessert.

    Filet was perfect! Wine excellent! Lobster add on about 4-5 bites so not sure I’d do that again but tasted great. They have gluten free “bread” which I was super excited about as usually not offered places but it was a bite size muffin so not really worth the effort for one. The butter was 4 times its size! Service good!
