Eight years ago, Maximo Bistrot started as a restaurant for the thinking and execution of dishes from a wide range of techniques with the best of local ingredients; a warmful place that communicated our love for food. After a long and heartwarming road at our current location, we thought for the need of moving. Our new home, located at Alvaro Obregon 65 bis - a much wider space where gleams of natural light shine upon the surface-, is carefully assembled by Gabriela's meticulous look, and a kitchen built within Eduardo García's early memories, while living as an inmigrant in a barn in Ohio. Despite this big change, our principles initially founded remain the same: to offer food that distinguishes the best of local products.

    Sobrevalorado al 100% aunque rico... Normal. Increíble que una quesadilla cueste 500. Ninguno de los platillos fue extraordinario.

    Had been wanting to come for a very long time so the hopes were high. Yes it’s cool, yes the food is good. Was the food “wow wow wow”? No. Great food but for the price not wow (cheaper for the US but compared to other spots in Mexico City the bar is higher.) We arrived at the time of our reservation but they made us wait 35-40 minutes, offered us to order a drink but brought the wrong drink and the correct drink arrived 25-30 minutes later, so make me wait with a drink, I’ll be fine, make me wait and mess up my drink, not thrilled and definitely a very wrong start. Timing of food a bit off, last two plates randomly late wasn’t hungry by then. We ordered many plates with seafood, meat, etc., the very last plate that arrived by itself artichokes?? (Someone forgot to put the order in or has no sense on how to time what food.) Service at the table at times excellent and at others absolutely absent (as in empty drink and no waiter in sight for 15-20 minutes, just after he left the drink menu for me to decide on one - super super nice waiter which helps the situation but a bit negligent nonetheless in the end in proportion to the price and expectation.) Would I go back? Maybe yes, but definitely not any time soon.

    Amazing experience and one of the most delicious meals and most beautiful restaurants in CDMX. Not to be missed! Even ordering the small plates between two people is plenty of food. Lovely service.

    The atmosphere was pleasant although the noise level was distracting. Staff was cordial but didn’t really seem enthusiastic about the synchronization of service nor description of the tasting menu items. There was no real explanation of the days menu or recommendations of specific entrees versus the tasting menu selection. Head staff seemed indifferent to the guest experience. Overall nothing exceptional to make me want to recommend the food or experience to anyone else. There are better meals to be had with much more genuinely welcoming environments to enjoy with better value in CDMX.
