Welcome to Maypop! - the sister establishment to the award winning Mid-City restaurant MOPHO. Located two blocks from the Super Dome and only one block from Poydras street, it features Southeast Asian inspired southern cuisine and focuses on hand made pastas and house charcuterie paired with Gulf seafood, local produce and hand ground curries. Enjoy our refreshing cocktails that are as innovative and creative as our cuisine, and our well curated wine list paired to our eclectic dishes.
Executive Chef Michael Gulotta was named a 2016 Best New Chef by Food and Wine Magazine and Maypop was named a 2017 best new restaurant by New Orleans magazine as well as a 2017 peoples choice best new restaurant by Gambit Magazine.

We did the five course tasting menu and the serving sizes were perfect and every bite was interesting and delicious. Our service was beyond excellent.

The food was exceptional! My wife is gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Couldn’t ask for a better experience there. Would recommend to anyone!

What an incredible experience! Myself and my fiancée visited the night after I proposed to her that morning. We booked an experience and boy did we get one. Glasses of champagne to start to celebrate our engagement. The staff was so knowledgeable about every course and each wine selected to pair with it. Also very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing!

Service was excellent and the chef visited us at end of meal - great touch. Bibb salad fresh and very tasty. Tuna and pj forked oysters were great. Both breads a must try! The pork belly dinner was excellent and the ribeye was very good too. Wine prices were reasonable. Would highly recommend and would come back next time in New Orleans

Maypop is one of my favorite restaurants. I always suggest it as a unique dining experience for friends or strangers I meet that are visiting New Orleans. You cannot truly replicate it anywhere else. I was born and raised in New Orleans and have lived in Singapore, so the concept of blending SE Asian and Creole/Cajun/NO Italian cuisine makes a lot of sense when you have lived amongst both food cultures. Maypop blends elements of these surprisingly similar cuisines in a non-gimmicky way by creating a third cuisine that stands on its own, but could not exist without the influences of the others. I'll stop typing — just eat the current duck with blueberry hoisin and collard greens dish and that is all you will need to know.

Maypop is a neighborhood gem! It is located in the Warehouse District in New Orleans and lucky for us, is a half block from our door. The food, ambiance, service and cocktails were all spot on! We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and cocktails with our bartender and with Chef Michael. Every dish we had was perfect, but do not miss the pork belly, Chicharron and especially the Milk Tea Creme Brûlée. And Aunt Verna’s Manhattan was a perfect accompaniment! This restaurant is a MUST.

Chef was able to accommodate my many food allergies and give me a Grand Tasting menu experience that was truly sensational. Made my remote worker holiday party the talk of my virtual office colleagues. The many recommendations to come here were spot on. My server Grayson was amazing. Overall an exceptional dining experience.
