Famous for Nova Scotia Lobster, Digby Scallops, Blackened Salmon, Potato Crusted Haddock and choice cuts of Prime Steak, McKelvie’s offers a wide selection of local favourites including Crab Bisque, Seafood Chowder, Steamed Mussels, Crunchy Haddock, Fish ‘n Chips, Jump-Up Calamari and Snow Crab Cakes. Service was excellent and the food absolutely fantastic. A great location for those living/staying in the area of the Halifax waterfront. We had oyster that were clean and fresh. Our shrimp appetizer was fresh and tasty. We both had lobsters salads which were inventive and so good!

Vielfältige Auswahl, vor allem an Meeresfrüchten Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung Preis- Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut Reservieren unbedingt notwendig, da vor allem am Wochenende schnell ausgebucht

After reading reviews it was easy to decide to go to Mckelvies while in Halifax. We waited until the morning of to make a reservation and our only option was 430 or 5pm. I was excited to have my first full lobster in Nova Scotia and unfortunately it was very overcooked. I couldn't even eat the tails they were so rubbery. My boyfriend's meal of surf and turf with a 1/2 lobster on the other hand was great. I would have informed the server of my issue but she came by only immediately after our food was delivered by another waiter before we could take a bite. After that she didn't come by our table even to get us another drink. At that point what's done was done so I left very disappointed.

Wonderful food and service as usual. Only thing I have to say is that when I reserved I had requested a window seat. Did not get that. I did not make an issue of it at the time as I had two friends with me that had never been to Nova Scotia. They just loved the food! Thanks.

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon. We asked for a window seat in our reservations and the got us a great spot by the window! The food was great, the best lobster I have ever had! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone!

Food was bland. The calamari was very good. The waitress was very good. Pricey for what there was ($21 for two crab cakes).
