The Tavern on the Square at McMenamins Anderson School is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and later-on. This Northwest-style café offers comfortable sophistication, making it an ideal spot to meet up and enjoy house-made specialties, such as brioche and desserts.

You'll see seasonal offerings, fresh fish and local produce on the menus here, ranging from Seared King Salmon to Filet Mignon.

Dining options pair well with our handcrafted coffee, ales, cider, wine and spirits-offering upscale classics and modern inventions.

                                                                      The fish and chips was not impressive. I am not a large woman and I was left hungry. Cabbage is cheap increase the serving with the fish. Fish didn't look appetizing same shape which makes me question real fish? They was not a lot of flavor to fish. My local pub does a better job. I love the ambience of your restaurant but I would not consider your pub again for a special meal.

                                                                      Food order took more than 30 minutes to arrive despite very few early dinner patrons in the restaurant. Beet salad had very few beets, just a lot of lettuce.

                                                                      After we were seated, nobody cane to our table for over 25 minutes. We had no waters or anything at the table. Once we had a waitress, we ordered drinks apps and our main meals. Our drinks came 20 minutes later, our apps came an HOUR later and our meals came TWO hours later! Our dishes and dinks piled up on our table as nobody would clear the table. I asked our waitress if she didn’t mind taking the 6 (yes 6) empty cups/glasses off our table…she looked confused so I had to ask again. The food was good, but the service killed it.

                                                                      We had the tavern burger which was amazing and was a large portion. Also we got the black and white fries which were amazing and came with a tasty sauce.

                                                                      We like the ambiance here which is primary why we return. Some of the dishes are good but in general the food is not great. Does seem like its getting worse. The booths are also not great for larger people. We made it work but didnt seem like they had many table options.

                                                                      Our server, Joseph, was awesome. He let my sister and I enjoy our meal and relax. Food was just about what we wanted!
