Melograno was established in 2003 by Chef Gianluca Demontis & Rosemarie Tran. The couple met in Rome when Rose was studying abroad. When Luca relocated to Philadelphia they wanted to represent his roots. Located in the beautiful Rittenhouse Square, surrounded by shops and entertainment. Melograno is a warm haven for good food and comforting service. A place to enjoy with friends and family. We are a BYOB so bring the spirits of your choice, we are happy to serve you.

                                                    As usual the food and service at Melograno was great. It is our go to neighborhood restaurant and it continues to please us.

                                                    Small, casual and cozy place, the appetizers were small but the entrees were big. Good plate sizes for sharing in group and trying different things. The pastas were very good, we tried the special of the day, the Amatriciana, the crab one and a mushroom tagliatelle. The special of the day was the best. The appetizers were nothing special in our opinion. A lot of people and very noisy but the lighting was perfect and overall it was nice, we loved the we got to take our own wines.

                                                    First time and we will be back. Food was phenomenal. Tuna Crudo was excellent. A tad spicy but the orange peel helped soften it, Buffalo Mozzerella was great. Wonderful combination of flavors. Duck Ragu pasta was to die for. Real comfort food. Caccio Pepe was one of the better ones we have had. Creme brulee dessert special was just the right touch. Liked the atmosphere. Tables, although small, were not cramped as they tend to be in many byobs. Staff/service was friendly and made great effort at checking back for each course . An excellent restaurant experience.

                                                    This was our first visit because we usually don’t go to BYOB‘s. Boy did we miss out on years of this fine restaurant! The staff was so attentive and warm. The food was top-notch perfection beginning with that amazing bread.  The tuna tartare was the best we’ve ever had with the creative candied orange. The restaurant achieved that “family feeling” while still being sexy and fun as well. We cannot wait to return!

                                                    I think this restaurant is a winner for service. We found the food good but not memorable. My fish taste fresh but lack pizzaz on term of taste. The pasta was ok. It’s great that it is BYOB.

                                                    Very nice staff. Food was delicious and hot. Salmon needed another side for a larger appetite but very tasty. Got loud as the place filled up.

                                                    Our server Amanda was amazing. The offerings for NYE and price was good. Food was good and brought out quite quickly. Unfortunately, we felt rushed because we weren’t seated until over 20 minutes past our reservation time and had other evening plans. Everyone around us was being seated and one large group they just kept adding tables to their table of 8+ as they had more and more guests arrive seemingly unexpectedly.
