We are the city’s top Mexican restaurant for authentic modern cuisine, specialty tequila and mezcal cocktails, located in the heart of River North. Our culinary team features popular Mexican dishes, including our signature tacos, as well as fresh salsa and guacamole, ceviche, esquites and more.

Mercadito's lounge is nestled in the lower level of Mercadito. It offers a speakeasy-style experience with a chic and exclusive ambiance. The space features banquet-style booths and dim lighting that enhances the elegant wood furniture, creating an inviting and intimate atmosphere.     Food was alright. Did find a hair in our guacamole, but everything else was fine. Ultimately don’t think it’s worth the price. Our server also didn’t make it the best experience.

    Issssssa!!!! Was the best waitress ever! Drinks flowing vibes on point, she was amazing! Def come here with your girls or with your partner during brunch hours to have a good time! Neat margarita brunch in the city!

    Tables are way too close to each other and not enough space to stretch elbow to elbow literally waiter was rude with an attitude wouldn’t come again

    It was a great experience but the noise level is kinda insane!!! Also, the tables could use more space in between. Overall it was a great experience though.

    I reserved a special from Mercadito called "Amor y Sabor" and boy it did not disappoint. The ambiance was very chill and the music was not too loud. Our waitress was very nice and attentive with us. The food was fantastic it consisted of a 4 course meal. It began with a shot of tiger de leche (Peruvian cuisine). Then we had a choice of camarones ceviche which was super tasty and flavorful. After that, we had queso Birria tacos with the dip and that was also delicious. Next but not least, we had some nice and tender strip steak which was perfectly cooked and was easy to chew. Our night was capped off with some churro desert and a glass of champagne. Overall an awesome and exciting experience and would highly recommend it!

    We tried Mercadito for their Valentine’s Day menu and we really enjoyed most of the dishes. Standouts: passion fruit guac, pollos a las bravas, and the cheesecake!

    It was Valentines Day, so we did feel a bit rushed as we hadn’t finished our second course and they came with the third, but overall had a good experience. The food was good, the staff was nice, and the drinks were delicious.

    The Valentines day pre fixed menu was terriible. You can tell it was more about maximizing profits and turning tables rather than making quality food. The menu selection was poor and the food came out within minutes of ordering showing that the food was most likely sitting out. I will never come back to this place again, total spent was roughly $350, will definitely go to a steakhouse next time around.
