The name of our restaurant, Mercato, signifies the trade route of Pomerania – via Mercatorum, which historically connected Gdańsk with Southern Poland. Our menu combines local and seasonal products with culinary trends from around the world, using the latest techniques. The four symbols which inspire our menu are rooted in history – the broad bean grain, planted by the Pomeranians in e, the noble Baltic salmon, the ‘Fagas’ which was a large Pomeranian sheep bred on Zulawy, and finally the duck, used as a symbol of birds bred for centuries in Pomerania.

                                I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent dining experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, the meal fell far below my expectations and the standards associated with a Michelin-starred establishment. The food was served cold, unappetizing, and had an unpleasant odor. The meat was tough and chewy, the mashed potatoes were watery, and the Pecorini cheese had formed a skin on top of the potatoes. To make matters worse, the cheese arrived five minutes after the rest of the dish had been served. When we brought these issues to the attention of the staff, they seemed unconcerned and offered no solutions or apologies. It was as if they felt entitled to the Michelin star and were indifferent to our experience. Furthermore, no one inquired about any allergies or dietary restrictions, which is a standard practice at any reputable restaurant, let alone one with a Michelin star. This was by far the most disappointing dining experience I have had at a Michelin-starred restaurant. I believe that the high standards associated with such an award were not met on this occasion.

                                lamb chops full of sinew and fat. considering how little was edible on the plate, it was hardly a meal. a lower price would not have helped the experience.

                                The food was amazing but sadly we went when it was a quiet evening and there were only 3-4 other tables so it lacked a bit of atmosphere

                                Food was fantastic and really amazing. The location, the table and the service was awesome. Towards the end of the dinner, when we paid our bill, we wanted to tip the waiter extra in addition to the included 10% service charge. The waiter wanted us to pay in cash to him instead of through card. It was just an odd experience

                                The food was really good and well plated. However, given the prices of the place, we expected friendlier and more professional service from the servers. When we asked about certain food allergens, the servers seemed mostly unsure about them. They also forgot to serve our drinks and only did so when we followed-up (it was not even busy during the time we were there). The location is perfect though, right beside the river and perfect to see the nightlife of Gdansk.

                                It is rare, very rare, that I am 100 percent satisfied. But when I visited the Mercato in the Gdansk Hilton, everything came together. Perfect, imaginative food - but for the connoisseur. In other words: the creations are not too fancy, but simply incredibly delicious. 5 courses, soup, fish, meat plus 3 greetings from the kitchen and a final delicacy. Accompanied by very good wine and excellent beer. A service that reads every wish from your lips. And all this in the outdoor area, by the river, opposite the Ferris wheel. I call that a perfect evening. And no, the evening didn't cost a month's salary. By German standards, it was actually very cheap. Disclaimer: I'll be back. With pleasure. PS. This song of praise was not paid for by the restaurant. It was simply written by an absolutely delighted guest. Rzadko, bardzo rzadko zdarza się, że jestem w 100 procentach zadowolony. Ale kiedy odwiedziłem Mercato w gdańskim Hiltonie, wszystko złożyło się w jedną całość. Doskonałe, pomysłowe jedzenie - ale dla konesera. Innymi słowy: kreacje nie są zbyt niezwykłe, ale po prostu niesamowicie pyszne. 5 dań, zupa, ryba, mięso plus 3 powitania od kuchni i ostatni przysmak. Do tego bardzo dobre wino i wyśmienite piwo. Obsługa, która odczyta każde życzenie z Twoich ust. A wszystko to na świeżym powietrzu, nad rzeką, naprzeciwko diabelskiego młyna. Nazywam to idealnym wieczorem. I nie, wieczór nie kosztował miesięcznej pensji. Jak na niemieckie standardy, było bardzo tanio. Zastrzeżenie: wrócę tam. Z przyjemnością. PS. Ta pochwała nie została opłacona przez restaurację. Została po prostu napisana przez absolutnie zachwyconego gościa.

                                Wybrałem restaurację Mercato na spotkanie biznesowe w godzinach wieczornych. Stolik na uboczu okazał się idealny. Obsługa chętnie poleciła kilka dań z karty i opowiedziała o nich. To samo jeśli chodzi o wina i alkohole. Pierś z Pulardy jadłem pierwszy raz w życiu i przyznam, że byłem zachwycony. Zdecydowanie polecam i na pewno wrócę.
