Keswick is one of the most scenic parts of the Lake District – which in itself is up there with the most scenic parts of the United Kingdom – and in the very heart of the town, you can find Merienda on the Main Street, whose food is about as beautiful as the surroundings. We offer wholesome, uncomplicated food in a homely ambience, and you can enjoy it any time of day, from a quality morning pick-me-up (We are serious about coffee and use quality Merienda's exclusive espresso blend from Darkhouse Coffee Roasters, Keswick) and hearty breakfast, to a range of delicious cakes and filling sandwiches, to a scintillating evening dinner menu accompanied by a range of fine wines and quality beers. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the focus of a menu filled with British classics and dishes inspired from around the world – reserve a table and head on down.

To be honest Keswick has lots of mediocre cafes and restaurants as holiday makers come and go. However the food in Merienda is good, especially the breakfasts, the pulled pork burger and in the evening the brown trout.

Friendly staff. Eclectic menu with lots of choice. Recommend the falafel, tacos and burgers. Generous portions so glad we didn’t have a starter! Good choice of drinks including local beers and gins.

What a great find! We dined at Merienda on Sunday evening - great choice on the menu, really well-executed and the service was brilliant. Everything was freshly prepared and nicely presented. Good variety of options as half of our party are vegetarian and the chocolate fondue dessert is not to be missed!! Thank you 🤩

Highly recommend Merienda... The food is delicious. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. The decor is lovely. We will definitely return and recommend.

The food was excellent and the menu interesting with good choice. I went with a friend and we had the vegetable tempura to share as a starter and it was delicious and plentiful. We both had the special which was pan fried sea bass with mashed potato green beans and carrots and it was delicious. Deserts looked interesting but we were full. Would highly recommend

This is our favourite restaurant in Keswick. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful and the food is superb. A real gem.

Excellent meal at Merienda (again) I had the steak for the first time there and it was superb. My wife had the sea bass special which was also good.

Good food with a daily special and friendly staff. Our group enjoyed meatballs with linguini and pan fried sea bass (the daily special) and the sharing chocolate desert. Looks small from the outside but there are also tables upstairs. Service efficient but not rushed.

Been coming to Merienda for a while now and have always enjoyed the overall experience. Food tasty and service excellent as per previous visits. Would recommend this little gem for a special occasion.
