Located in the Warehouse District, Meril is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s lively restaurant in New Orleans. Meril’s casual restaurant interior is marked by a signature open style kitchen and a large bar area, featuring a varied wine selection and craft cocktails. Named after his daughter, the restaurant showcases some of Chef Emeril’s favorite dishes that he loves to eat, featuring everything from Wood Fired Flatbreads to Korean Chicken Wings. Lagasse brings his expertise and distinguished hospitality to Meril, creating a deliciously spirited dining experience.

        The food was amazing. The Congo Square Punch and the Pineapple upside down cornbread was a great start. I followed that with the meatballs and fettuccine nero. While the food was very good, the service was lacking. A gentleman came to the table several times to refill our water from a carafe that we ourselves were using to refill our glasses. While doing so, he never said a word. A young woman took our order. The food was delivered quickly and was delisous. Then the gentleman cleared our plates, taking my fork before I was done. I then asked for another folk, he took my tablemates fork that was laying on the table and handed it to me. Again never saying a word. I handed it back and said i'd rather have a clean one. After that we were ready for the check. About five mintues later someone came to the table and literally reset the table. New small plates and silverware. Again not speaking or addressing us in any way. It was weird We giggled and wondered if they were at least going to bring us a dessert menu. We were enjoying each others company and laughed out loud when someone tossed a dessert menu on the table as they walked by. We finally had someone ask if we wanted dessert a good half hour after we had finished our meal.

        This is usually one of my favorite spots so I chose it for a team lunch. Unfortunately they were out of several items - oysters, cauliflower, and potatoes (but oddly not French fries). Also $24 for a bowl of gumbo at lunch seems high.

        The food and service was wonderful!! We chose to share lots of small plates. Our favorites… tuna bundles, boudin balls, meat balls, shishito peppers, pocket bread. The gumbo was delish as was the bread pudding. Their specialty cocktails were fabulous- my favorite was the spicy margarita!

        My daughter and I are visiting the city for the weekend. We stopped in Mario for brunch and it was absolutely wonderful. Everything tasted great and the service was awesome.

        Wonderful experience. Staff was awesome, including the secondary waitstaff who assisted with drink refills/other items. Upside down cornbread wasn’t awesome, BBQ shrimp sauce was a little overpowering, but flatbread, fries, and dumplings were fantastic. Cotton candy was a cute and fun addition - made the kids feel special. Will absolutely return to try different items - about to choose from.

        Meril was very accommodating and understanding even on one of the busiest days of the year. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was really great. Lauren was our waitress and she was very helpful with choosing what to get.

        Loved the variety of offerings. Sampled a selection of small plates that covered all kinds of food cultures. Everything was delicious!
