We ate outside which is a less noisy than the inside of the restaurant, but a little cooler, so bring a jacket if you are dining in the evening! We really enjoyed our meal, including the lobster pot pie and macadamia crusted fish. Our server was lovely!

The food and service was excellent. The restaurant was really noisy but I guess that’s to be expected on a Friday night at 7pm. If I go again, I would try to get a table outside.

Consistent and reliably great food and service. We have enjoyed nearly all of the Merriman locations many times since the early 90’s.

Food delicious, service excellent! Nice place for lunch if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale from the local “drive in” type. Personal irritant is “kitchen charge” on the bill - why not just increase the cost of food, drinks, etc. Menu offerings are not cheap as is so additional 50-75 cents per item wouldn’t be objectionable.

The food here was outstanding and I highly recommend the Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi. We were originally being seated inside but asked to move outside as the noise level inside was too much. Outside was great and the service was excellent.

This is my go to place when I visited Hawaii. Love the food. Always well prepared and great service. I was dining on my own and the restaurant was busy with groups. It could have been easy to overlook me but Dylan (who was in training. Day two!) and his mentor were fully attentive. I chose the daily catch, which was delicious. Never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Well worth the walk or bus ride from the busy Waikiki area (bus 20,42) will drop you off at Queen street.

I have been in here for lunch a couple times and really enjoyed all of the food. Tonight we came for my husbands birthday and it was of course their dinner menu. After the waiter explained the specials to us like we were tourists (words like hapa and makai ) we ordered some appetizers.. We got a couple of the appetizers: biscuits-great, green beans-great, French onion soup-good, and poke-not great(foodlands is much better). I got the makai special which was very good but not worth $49 in my opinion. My older daughter for the steak frites which was great. My younger daughter got the homemade pasta which was very good. My husband got the ribeye which was not cooked to medium rare but more like medium well., definitely not worth $79. All in all, we spent close to $400 but next time I would go at lunch or not at all. I didn’t feel like the value was there. The waiter was nice and attentive but should not assume people are tourists. My kids were born and are being raised here and definitely know what poke is 😆
