Metate is an excellent experience. Started with Rustic Salad, next Bone Marrow with Shrimp, then Octopus, and finally Corn Bread Cake. Everything was delicious.

The experience at Metate was wonderful! Dining outside was beautiful. The food was interesting and fresh. David Martinez, our waiter was extremely attentive. It was a memorable evening.

Excellent meal! The mole appetizer was the best mole we've ever had. Elote was also very good. My wife had their amazing picanha and I had their very good grilled octopus. All followed by an excellent flan and wonderful coffee. Did I mention the great atmosphere?

A perfect cap to our trip to Cabo San Lucas. Service was amazing, the host greeted us and immediately whisked us to our table which had our names written on a small board. Our servers were very attentive but not overly so. Since it was on the cooler side that evening they had a blanket available for my wife. The food was very fresh and a unique take on Latin/Mexican cuisine. I recommend trying several of the tacos and appetizers rather than the larger entrees. Everything was well seasoned. I would have preferred some more spice (none of the dishes we had were spicy hot) in the dishes but the salsa at the table provided just enough added heat for my taste. A definite recommend if you come to Cabo.

Incredible overall experience. Our server Francisco did a great job explaining the drink and dinner menu to us and let me sample a couple of the anejo tequilas before picking one. For a Michelin star restaurant the prices are Metate are very reasonable. We got 3 appetizers. The grilled corn, guacamole with pork rinds and panela cheese and grilled lobster. The corn was great. The panela cheese and pork rinds paired perfectly with the guac. I wasn’t a huge fan of the octopus but it did have a good flavor. For our entrees I got the Picana and my girlfriend got the chicken. I would say this was the best chicken I’ve ever eaten in my life. The crust was perfect and the meat was extremely juice. We each had 2 cocktails. 3 apps and each had an entree and the bill was under $200. Very pleased with the experience. Great atmosphere and building outdoor seating and we loved the house dog.

Our young waiter David seemed nervous and was relatively new to fine dining, I imagine. The location is not easy to find on a dusty road off of the main road. Once inside, you find something more interesting and inviting. We sat in the back with a table made of OSB wood with a partially covered cloth on top. Seems they are still in start up mode. We brought our own wine and it seemed to take young David a while until we wanted to pay for a corkage fee. Would not order the picanha again; nothing like what you’re used to as least for me. Tlayuda metate is good. Mexican pizza kind of as an appy. Big but not too filling. Did not live up to the hype on the internet other than the lighting and ambience. I think there are better restaurants in Cabo with better and less expensive options than this. Would not go back but hey, you may have a different experience than me. Eaten all over the world so maybe I expected too much. To each their own. Buena suerte a Metate!
