   Wow, Millenium has gotten shabby. Sticky floor like a movie theatre, chairs and tables fraying and crumbling at the corners, tabletops sticky like an applebees. Also we had the oakland restaurant week prefix and wow, it was underwhelming. Bland and uninteresting. No distinct flavors, interesting combinations, or even good ratios of spice/salt. Also the portions were farcically small, even for a prefix. Damn, the hype about this place was way overblown.

   This was our first visit to Millennium - prompted by Oakland Restaurant Week. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived and were seated on the back patio which has a serene Moroccan feel (reservation made through Open Seat). Our server was courteous, attentive and offered an excellent wine pairing. Each dish had a unique presentation, sumptuously seasoned and tasteful textures. We will absolutely return again very soon!

   All the staff were wonderful. The food was very tasty, but I found my Maitake mushroom entree a bit salty in the sauce underneath the mushrooms, mixed in with carrots and onions. The cornmeal oyster mushrooms were perfect, and the asparagus well spiced. All in all an enjoyable meal. Thank you.

   Eat at this place even if you are not vegan. The food is excellent and you will be surprised and amazed at the variety of tastes and textures that is possible. Everything we ate was so tasty. My partner really wanted to lick the plate! I have visited this restaurant 3 times and would definitely encourage anyone who is interested to try it. The pricing is appropriate and the place was hopping on a Saturday night. It is a la carte during the week but a set 4 course prize fixe (with plenty of choices) on Friday and Saturday. The wines and cocktails were good. I do not think reservations are always necessary but we were able to reserve our time of choice only a couple of days beforehand. We parked in the BART station nearby.

   Millennium has been my favorite restaurant in the country for 30+ years. Tonight’s spring harvest Price fix menu was extra extraordinary. One of my guests is a professional chef, and with every bite, she exclaimed, “ oh my God, how do they make these flavors?”

   This was one of the best meals I’ve had in years. I would expect to find this quality of food, service and ambience only in the heart of a major international city m, not in the quaint Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland. Outstanding in every regard.

   Brought my friend for his first time here for dinner last night before a concert. It was my first time out on the heated patio. It was so cozy back there with the blanket provided, soft music, warmth and the deep dulcet voice of a waiter. As always, the food was amazing.

    I love taking groups to Millenium. The food is amazing and the drinks especially good. We had a wonderful time and it is just fantastic. Always great!
