A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

Indulge in a festive twist on our traditional afternoon tea at Millie’s Lounge. Expect the classic finger sandwiches featuring flavours such as roast turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. Indulge in sweet treats such as ‘Santa Belly’ a tonka bean ganache with cranberry, or ‘Christmas Tree’ a speculoos sandwich with bitter chocolate cremeux. We had afternoon tea, my friend received items that I didn’t. I was missing the mince pie and had 1 less sandwich. I also received 2 of the same desserts. I should’ve said something but we didn’t really see our waiter until we were asked to vacate the table as our time was up. The table wasn’t occupied for 1hr 20m after we were asked to move to the bar. Very disappointing considering our bill was 200.00 for 2 people

I love the Ned and have eaten here many times, I stayed overnight this time and had breakfast at Millie’s lounge. Service was terrible, waiter appeared very grumpy and also tried to rush us to finish before he realised we had the table for a full 2 hours. I ordered the kedgeree which was dry and tasteless, would not recommend this dish, I’ve never had a bad experience at the Ned but this morning was disappointing

Very disappointing. I’ve never been served in a restaurant where the waiter takes the menu off you and marks your order in front of you whilst demanding you order all 3 courses at once. The food tasted like a school dinner, it was deeply disappointing. I’ve had better food as a pub lunch. I won’t be returning.

Food was average for the £80 per head 3 course menu. Turkey was ok but nothing bettte than your average pub, roast potatoes not particularly golden. Not much gravy. I had Christmas pudding which was dry and seemed reheated too many times, Expensive lunch for little enjoyment. We were told our table was needed but we were waiting for our glasses to filled with the champagne sat in the cooler. We didn’t pay the £58 service charge!

Went here for my birthday. Appreciate it was busy with it being a week before Christmas, but service was slow and the waiter was rude, particularly when asked questions about potential allergens in particular dishes. Previously millies has been great with allergies but this time the waiter was very dismissive. We had issues with one dish (fish and chips) and the manager confirmed it was because the fish was partially undercooked. Again this is not the standard we are used to with Millies and will make me question going there again. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Great experience at Millie's Lounge. Beautiful location, delicious food and attentive service. Prices were reasonable for the location.
