A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

We had a wonderful meal at Millie’s! The steak was generously sized and perfectly flavorful, even without sauce. The fries could have been a bit crispier and saltier, but everything else was excellent. The white wine was fantastic and complemented the meal beautifully. It was quite busy, making it a bit hard to hear each other at times, but the ambient music created a great atmosphere. Overall, a great experience – definitely worth a visit!

Overall very good, admittedly not just the fault of the Ned but in line with eating out generally, just very expensive compared to 5 years ago.

Having breakfast here is a business-like and busy but still feels like a treat. The surroundings are fabulous. Generous portions and food as described on the menu (no Dukkah or crispy chilli type toppings here!).

Service was slow at times. We ate from the brunch menu and would say that the kedgeree was very bland in taste and couldn’t taste the smoked haddock. The desserts were delicious. We had none alcohol cocktails as there were no non alcoholic wines which I would have hoped for. Ambience was good and there was live music. Tad overpowering at times but generally was a nice touch .

The Ned is a lovely place with nice restaurants and I’ve had Breakfast and Lunch there but was a little disappointed with the afternoon tea, it was a Birthday celebration so was so looking forward to it , we got our tea long before our food came so we had no tea with our food and had to order more tea at a cost to us , we waited quite a while for the food but it was presented well, the sandwiches were far to cold so couldn’t taste the filling and the bread was a strange consistency!! Maybe because they were to cold , the scones and small cakes were very nice and a nice birthday cake for the birthday girl. The waiting staff were lovely very attentive and friendly. But I’ve had better afternoon teas so maybe the Ned will improve as they go along, but it wouldn’t stop me eating at their other diners .
