A local favorite, Miyo’s Restaurant has served the Hilo area since 1987. Under the direction of it's owner, Louis Pauole, Miyo's Restaurant serves up homestyle Japanese food using quality ingredients and it's beloved recipes created by Miyo herself!

Come and enjoy entrees such as Hot Pots, Curry, Teriyaki, Tempura, Seafood and much more! While you're awaiting your delicious meal, you can also sip on a handcrafted cocktail made by our talented bartenders from our Izakaya Bar - Hilo's newest hot spot! With a full bar, 15 beers on tap, an exclusive evening tapas menu and a cozy, rustic atmosphere, there's something for everyone!

    Was good. Food was great, but drinks were messed up royally. Apologies for not saying it, but didn't realize until we left that both my drink and wife's were completely wrong. Ordered the mai tai and got a margarita. Wife ordered a martini with a twist and got a lemon drop. Had fun regardless.

    In a hit or miss dining market, Miyo's stands out for consistency and ambience. We like sitting at the bar so we can watch appetizer prep. Kelvin made things extra special last night, even serving avocado on the side for me (husband is allergic). Bartender is excellent too. Food from the kitchen was delicious. I speak my mind about food quality and experiences because I live here and have the chance to visit lots of places, and I like to help others spend their money well. Honestly, this was one of our better meals on this island.

    My husband and I went for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We haven’t been here in a while and was excited to be out together just the two of us. The wait was short, we got our table and got our water. Service started off great, we noticed they got new tables and changed up the other seating area that is now a bar. We tried a couple of new appetizers and ordered our food. The only thing that we didn’t like experiencing was the long wait time for our main dishes to get to us. We waited about an hour. It’s a good thing we ordered the appetizers, it held us up. My husband orders the same thing every time we eat here so he enjoyed his meal immensely. My order was a bit over cooked and over powering with shoyu. I was a little disappointed but nonetheless still ate my dinner. We appreciated the waitress apologizing for the long wait. She remembered us as frequent visitors and she is always very friendly and in good spirits. Even though it looked like she took care of a lot of tables. Overall, we enjoy eating at Miyo’s. We understand that everyone and everyplace go through rough times but that will not defer us from eating at Miyo’s again. Thank you for dinner

    Reservation was for 6:45pm, seated immediately which was great .... order taken 15-20 mins later, reasonable. Food did not come for LITTERALLY 1 HOUR TIL 8PM😔 I may be sentimental but quality of the fresh veggies has sadly declined in our last half dozen visits in the past couple years. (We live off island now). The Sesame Chicken will ALWAYS BE A HIT, but sadly overall Miyos is becoming less & less of THEEE GO TO SPOT. Ugh, I guess like most places times change, owners change. Not sure if we will keep it on our rotation of MUST DO Places in Hilo but we wish them the best.

    Went for an early dinner…miso chicken was cold and shrimp tempura warm….even the miso soup was warm and too salty for my taste. We went in to the restaurant so we could have a hot meal. Very disappointed. And since when does a Japanese restaurant charge for hot tea????
