The staff was lovely and very accommodating unfortunately the food really didn’t hit the mark, especially with the steaks which was really unfortunate. At the price point the food should be ourstanding. The ceaser salad was outstanding though and the best bite I had followed by the Mac and cheese.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

Overall, disappointing. We had a reservation at 7:15, were seated at 7:45. We were directed to the lounge for drinks yet no one came over. The hostesses didn't seem very bothered and kind of had a "oh well" attitude. Our waiter provided great service but the food was not on the level of a Shanahan's or Del Friscos, yet the prices were in the same ballpark. I guess when you are up in Blackhawk, you don't feel the need to really cater to the customer as there are limited choices.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

We thought the seating was too tight in the main area and the cafeteria style seating was way too crowded. We couldn’t move our chairs because of the lack of space to the next table. The seating by the fireplace is better and felt more intimate. Additionally, we felt rushed as the waiters were trying to pick up our plates before we were even done. This happened to several of us. We indicated this was my wife’s birthday it was a slow night for them following a busy weekend, yet they wanted to seat us at the worst table, the one nearest to where wait staff came in and out from the back. They were nice enough to move us to a better table, but why seat an early arrival, on a slow night, at the least desirable location? The room never did fill up. The food was amazing. The service was top notch. Definitely the best restaurant in Blackhawk and possibly Colorado. This was our first time visiting the monarch and we were excited to try the chophouse. While we had to wait nearly 20 mins after our reservation time to be seated, the bar is lovely and we enjoyed two espresso martinis. Once seated, our server Troy was excellent. He clearly knew the menu and spirits well but was timely, kind, and efficient. He came around at perfect intervals and paced our meal appropriately. We started with the oysters which were large and flavorful. I had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked and served in a saffron broth which was delicious. My husband had the NY strip which was thicker than expected, served with the most delightful whipped potato and cooked to perfection. The side of asparagus was good as well.
