When deciding where to visit during our first trip to New Orleans I wasn’t quite sure where to go, but I came across Morrow Steak while researching our options and it looked unique so we gave it a shot. Best. Decision. All. Day. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and we had the most wonderful server - Santiago (from NY). This place is an experience you must have if you’re in town! Keep reading to know more on what to expect…
First, the decor is superb with ornate lighting fixtures, realistic looking greenery, and elegant seating. From entry to exit it was clear how much care the staff put into the image of the restaurant, even down to their attire and attention to detail when setting their tables. As we were seated, the hostess shared our server’s name, Santiago, and I had a feeling it was worth remembering. It was. Santiago came over to take our order and was a delight. He offered great recommendations, listened to us share why we were in town and how my husband and I met, and made us laugh multiple times. He truly enhanced the atmosphere. Thank you, Santiago, for making us feel like we were your only priority.
Onto the food and drinks, I ordered the Soleil Kiss and was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it was while equally as strong. Santiago recommended the Parker Bread, so we went with that next. This is not an appetizer for the faint of heart. Sincerely a loaf of bread that could be one’s entire dinner, but we restrained ourselves because who doesn’t get steak at a steakhouse? Despite its warm and light taste, paired nicely with two types of butter, we put it to the side to leave room for our entrees.
My husband went with the gumbo and side mac and cheese while I ordered the 8oz filet and broccolini. YUM. But the standout? The best dessert you’ll ever taste - their Praline Crème Brûlée. Seriously, don’t you dare skip this hidden gem.
All and all, we would absolutely come back and plan on telling everyone we know, so they too can enjoy.
