In an atmosphere of sophisticated fine dining enhanced with stunning views of the volcanic landscape, guests can travel across Iceland by way of the sensational creations that emerge from the kitchen. The menus move effortlessly from the mountains to the farmlands to the rivers to the oceans, each dish becoming a testament to the living heritage and diverse delights of Icelandic cooking.

Head chef Aggi Sverrisson— formerly of London’s legendary Texture—integrates Asian flavors with local ingredients to create Moss’s innovative cuisine.

    I definitely enjoyed the meal but I should note we came in the end of October. We drove from Reykjavík at night - we got lost around the property because the signage at the Blue Lagoon/Retreat hotel were all iced over so we couldn’t read them and there were no lights illuminating the signs. There were not a lot of lights around the property in general and thw GPS was getting confused. During one part of the drive, it wanted us to go off road to get to the entrance (which is something one must never do in Iceland). The restaurant is in the Retreat hotel which is a beautiful facility but there was no valet so it was self park then short walk in the cold to the entrance (surprising for a hotel that charges $1500 a night). The meal itself was wonderful and hearty but not heavy. The ingredients were wholesome and flavorful but not salty. I finished the meal feeling satisfied which is a good place to be. I’ve had other Michelin starred tasting menus leaving me overly full and borderline sick but not this one. I think it may be because the ingredients they used were so clean and the accompanying sauces were given in measured portions. Honestly, it would have been a stellar experience if not for the logistical issues we experienced trying to get there.

    Absolutely incredible meal. Excellent service from everyone. We especially loved our waitress. Truly a special experience and I might have to splurge on this every time I am in Iceland.

    Our servers were amazing and the food was superb. My wife and I were extremely satisfied. What a great way to celebrate our 1-year anniversary!

    Such a unique and luxurious experience. The meal was perfectly coursed out with approximately timing and everything tasted divine. Great experience for a special occasion in a beautiful place!

    Words cannot express or do this place justice. Magical from the moment you walk in. The ambiance will take your breath away . The service at a level rarely seen , the presentation of the 7 course meal and flavors beyond words. It was our 35 th anniversary and had to be special and it exceed any expectations. Hats off to the culinary staff who created masterpieces in each course bringing both the creative and sensual taste to each course. On a suggestion, the male sommelier could have smiled the female sommelier could have stopped by to suggest wines. Maybe they thought. We couldn’t afford wines after the fixed price menu :). The location was devine , among the lava rubble from the eruption encompassing g their Blue Lagoon . One cudo , the bellman at the entrance to THE RETREAT was so kind to us showing up early was offering us a drink in the fabulous lobby till the Resturant opened ..Thank you..

    Moss has a 7 course testing meal that could be a little better but it's not bad. After some questions to the staff, my wife and I found out the meal is a review of the Iceland topography via food. We sent the main course back and it was aptly replaced with what we thought was an appreciably better dish. The fact that this is a Michelin Star restaurant is not wasted on me or my wife. We appreciate the quick and knowledgeable service, creative dishes and soothing atmosphere that combine to make a great dinner.

    This Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. The service was impeccable and the food delicious, creative and beautiful. They only do a vegan or fish/meat menu of seven courses. Things were nicely timed and service attentive, friendly. I ended up eating alone as my partner became ill that day and I felt well served as a single diner. I did not do the wine pairing but on reflection probably should have. Wines by the glass were very expensive even for Iceland, but top quality. My rose champagne was about $40 per glass and wines for the dinner were that and more. Nevertheless it was a beautiful experience.

    An amazing dinner. Service outstanding. We took the pairing wine menue (actually half pairing) and the matching was great. One of the best we ever experienced among the one and even two stars.
