Chef Vicente Torres and Moxi from Hotel Matilda are rewriting a new history of gastronomy in San Miguel de Allende together. Vicente Torres, a Michelin-starred chef in Spain, joins the Moxi team at the invitation of Mr. Bruce James, presenting a high cuisine concept with Mediterranean touches. The inspiration for Moxi's menu comes from the environment, from small producers who, for me, are artisans and a fundamental part of our team. From organic gardens, their colors, aromas. I like to define the type of cuisine as product-based, with Mediterranean touches. We seek to have the best product in order to offer the best experience to our diners, so they can enjoy it in a unique setting like Moxi.

    Disorganized and Extremely Slow Service Our experience at Moxie Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende was incredibly disappointing. Despite having a 5 PM reservation, no one was at the front desk to greet us, and it took over 30 minutes for them to prepare our table. Once seated, we waited another 30 minutes just to receive drinks, and dinner took an unbelievable two hours to arrive. The lack of organization and unreasonably slow service made the evening frustrating. I cannot recommend this place—there are far better dining options in San Miguel de Allende.

    Open Table does not help at this restaurant. We’ve had trouble the last 3 times with them finding the reservation. The first 2 times we were seated at the table for 8 that we had requested. Then the waiter came and asked if we had a reservation and then proceeded to set the table. The last time a group of 6 walk ins preceded us and were given our table, the only one that seated 8. We left and went elsewhere, and are not sure we will ever return. The unreliability even with a confirmed reservation is unacceptable.

    the food was served cold. The quality of the food was good but because it was served cold it was not enjoyable
