   After so much research and due diligence, I decided on Mozambique for my husband's birthday dinner for us and our son. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn that the wait for a table on the rooftop would be 45 mins to an hour. Even though I specified and requested in my reservation (which was made in advance) for a table on the rooftop deck; I understood that it WAS a Saturday evening and it is what it is. We accepted a table in their main dining area on the second floor... I wish I knew that this was where the primary bar and live music would be because it did not quite match up to what I had envisioned in mind for my husband's birthday dinner, ambiance-wise. There were no views to speak of and we were situated right in the middle of the bar area, also not super appropriate for our 10-yr old son. I didn't want to make a big deal of it and spoil the evening so I went along with it and always remained pleasant with the staff (who were all just trying their best). It also didn't help that the hostess told us that we needed to leave by 9:00 pm before the live band went on, as tables were booked/paid for in advance. I understand that but it certainly didn't make us feel welcome or appreciated as customers. No paying customer ever wants to feel like an inconvenience or a burden!! Well, the evening just went from awkward to bad to worse. Our server seemed to have no idea that it was my husband's birthday, even though I mentioned it on my reservation and with the two different hostesses upon check in. By the time the complimentary bread pudding dessert came out, my husband already knew and saw all my hand signals to the various staff. By the end of the evening, I was so frustrated and (internally) upset at having had a really lame birthday dinner experience here for my husband. I honestly have had better birthday dinner celebrations at a Chili's or Applebee's. 2 stars for the food (we had the Caesar salad and peri peri chicken skewers, kid's mac and cheese, fi

   When we saw the rooftop and the restaurant, we were so excited. The service was exceptional the vibes were amazing and the oysters were very fresh! But that was all that Mozambique had to offer. We got the seafood platter and it was not worth it at all. It felt like a bunch of different ingredients put on a plate with nothing to tie it together. But that wasn’t the biggest disappointment, we ordered a stake and that could be one of the worst steaks I’ve had. We got it medium rare and it was overcooked to a medium and it was so dry. The drinks weren’t any better either. It was quite a shame because everything but the food was amazing at this place. Will maybe return for the live music but that’s about it.

   Omg it was delicious! The halibut,Salmon and sampler platter was sooooo good. The halibut was outstanding. And if anyone likes espresso martinis or something like it, you need to try the drunken elephant.

   We had a fabulous time, waiter was great food outstanding. It was the 1st time my husband had been there, he wants to go back again

    We waited for at least 20 minutes for our drinks. There was one bar tender for the entire rooftop area, which is sizeable. And, it was a Sunday when you would most likely have extra staff. We left after waiting for more than 20 minutes and after putting in our food order.
