Opened in 1979 by world famous restaurateur Michael Chow. MR CHOW started in London in 1968 and continues to enjoy generations of devoted clients from art, fashion, music, and entertainment. Recently awarded the 5 Star Diamond Award by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences for its excellence, service, and cuisine this restaurant described by Givenchy as a "Precious Jewel Box" is one of the most beautiful restaurants in New York City serving high Chinese Cuisine with impeccable service.
The menu at MR CHOW is a combination of old authentic Beijing, Original Recipes, and the signature dishes such as Chicken Satay, MR CHOW Noodles, and Ma Mignon. MR CHOW also serves one of the best Beijing Ducks in the world.
The famous nightly handmade noodle show is presented in every location since the opening of London in 1968.

Loved it! We couldn’t order the Peking Duck as there’s only two of us, but the Gamblers Crispy Duck that they recommended was also great. We ended up with the Mr Chow prix-fixe for two and every dish was great. Yes - on the expensive side but worth every penny for special occasion dinner! We will be back. We feel lucky to have this in our neighborhood.

The best Peking duck in NYC period. Very expensive but worth the splurge! The excellence in service and food has been the same for decades. In a changing world, this is a wonderful mainstay! They used to carve the duck tableside, but it is such a small space that there really was no room for the chef to do that! This restaurant deserves a Michelin star! Bravo!

The staff was slow: food was delivered all at once instead of appetizers/ main dishes all at once? Instead of chicken first then fish? Cold delivery, service was poor

First visit and everything was wonderful from the time we walked in to upon leaving. I don’t know the writers name but he was wonderful as were all the servers. We will be back next trip.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU LOOK AT ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, THEY SAY THE SAME THING. Wildly overpriced. We were pressured into ordering quickly, prix fixe rather than a la carte as we had planned. There was way, way too much food, it all arrived at the same time jammed onto the table, much of it breaded and fried, not hot, some flavorless, some slimy— my local takeout Chinese restaurant has far better food. We then didn’t hear back from any waitstaff for the better part of an hour. I had to track down our waiter to receive the absolutely enormous bill (we had one round of drinks). What a disappointment for a rare gathering with family. The space is pretty, and maybe good for a cocktail— but I will never eat there again.
