Originally opened as Lyons English Grille in 1945, in 2014 the building was purchased from David Lyons and after a complete renovation we re-opened in 2015 as Mr. Lyons, a homage to Mr. David Lyons.

Mr. Lyons features steakhouse classics with a modern edge. Be transported to a bygone era when jazz standards, martinis and steak ruled the day while enjoying modern luxury and innovation. A classic steakhouse with a menu that puts local small farms first, delivered with impeccable tableside service. Editors pick for best steakhouse “Palm Springs Life 2021 and 2022.” Mr. Lyons features five unique experiences/spaces: The Salon, The Lounge, The Conservatory and Terrace, The Private Dining Room, The Private Dining Patio and Seymour’s.

Waited over an hour for our food to arrive cold and not prepared to request. No water service. Onion rings were soccer. Bread was meh w butter so garlicky and icky. No one checked on us. Manager was nice and comped us 2 steaks and 2 drinks. Still paid $260 for 3 Hours of barely eating.

I have been to Mr Lyons many times and generally like it. The steaks are consistently great. But the sides need to be reconsidered. There just aren’t enough interesting vegetable dishes to choose from. Plus it would be great to have a few more non-beef entree options. The service was very slow and uncoordinated tonite and needs improvement. More staff perhaps? 🤔

Six of us enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio before attending the theater. We ordered several appetizers and a few main courses, many of them shared amongst all of us. Two of the guests really enjoyed the bone marrow. Many of us agreed the onion rings were the best ever. I ordered two side dishes. My favorite was the broccoli. All in all, all of us had a wonderful time and found the food to be especially flavorful.

Ultimately disappointing, unimpressive, and not worth the price. Staff was very friendly but a little slow given there weren't many customers there when we dined. Our waiter noticed our French Martini was poorly made and had another one brought to us which was kind of him. The ambiance was nice but small details left me disappointed like the arms of the chair being too high to fit under the table which left me sitting at an awkward distance from the table. The food was quite disappointing for the price. We had the house rolls which came with butter with a nice flavor but was unsalted. The presentation of the Steak Frites was quite sad, a paper thin steak plopped down next to a puddle of chimichuri. The lobster ravioli had a nice flavor, but again the presentation was quite unappetizing. Five or six small raviolis plated in a white sauce. The ravioli itself was colored black and pink for some reason and almost gave the appearance of sushi instead of ravioli. Certainly a strange choice of plating.

I always want to love a night at Mr. Lyons for their longstanding (and upstanding) reputation, as well as for their undisputedly glamorous dining room, but sadly my meat-eating dinner companions usually tell me their steaks are just mediocre. My lobster ravioli tonight was excellent and everyone loved their salads (a perfect caeser and two truly tasty and traditional “iconic wedges”) as well as their ‘made to perfection’ martinis served with blue cheese olives. Service was also on point this evening, with Carlos attuned to our every need, so I’ll continue to return with the hope that next time even the carnivores will be elated.

Wow! From our greeting at the door to bring welcomed with open arms by Lizette And staff i have only compliments! George and Claudio were exceptional. Our drinks were fresh and delicious. Caviar dip is a must try with their homemade chips. We got the French onion soup and Cesar salads. New York steaks and prime rib were perfect tender and cooked exactly as ordered. All the sides came in hot and ready to enjoy. We never had an empty glass. The attention to detail was on point. Thank you for making my best friends birthday one she will never forget. Also thank you to the two gentlemen at Seymour at the bar! You must enjoy their fun atmosphere with another cocktail before heading home. Yum!

It was a birthday dinner for our friend and we really enjoyed the perfectly cooked 36 ounce ribeye. The sides were tasty too. They brought out ice cream and a candle for her too.
