Opened in 1978 and located in the heart of historic Old Town, Alexandria, Murphy's Grand Irish Pub is one of Alexandria's best-loved and most inviting restaurants. Murphy's offers an extensive menu and top-class traditional cuisine in the welcoming ambiance of its cozy settings.

A short 10-15-minute drive from the nation's capital, this landmark establishment is located at the main intersection in Old Town, King & Washington.

Today, the tradition of great food and drink remains as steadfast as when the doors first opened back in 1978

Murphy's has Live Irish Music seven nights a week and on weekends, on both floors.

I had the Fish&Chips dinner, which was great. Flaky white fish, not fishy tasting, and the batter was crispy and perfect. I didn't even finish the tasty fries, there was plenty to eat. The Irish Stew was said to be Delicious! The bread was just the right compliment for it, and it was very filling. Two men had the Jameson New York steak. It was done perfectly to their satisfaction. The green beans were scrumptious, and the loaded potato yummy. We finished with some Irish Coffee that hit the spot 😋 The four of us were very happy with our meals. Our server, Dillon, was the best!

Brunch at Murphys is always delicious! Service is always wonderful. And the price is right probably the cheapest brunch on King Street. One person had the seafood omelette, which was delicious! Another had the Irish country breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. Eggs were cooked to perfection. And our third person had waffles and bacon, and they were terrific too.

Great location and chill atmosphere. Well priced drinks. Food inexpensive but subpar. Appetizers are like defrosted appetizers from BJs with exception of tuna. French dip, salmon, and tuna entrees were fine. Steaks covered in salty tasteless gravy. Pulled pork incredibly dry. Hard to see how the kitchen could mess up so bad on such easy dishes. Good service and friendly hostess.

Had a reservation of 12. Table was ready when wet got there. Drinks were great, food was delicious. Great atmosphere.

Overall we were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The portions were ample and the flavors quite good. The mashed potatoes were dry, but still ok. Glad we ordered the Irish stew to go with it.

Wonderful evening outside patio. Great service & delicious food. Crabcakes, shrimp, scallops amazing. Chocolate cake wonderful. We’ll go back
