At the Nag’s Head we are passionate about food and the excellent quality produce that is available locally. The majority of our food is freshly prepared and cooked from ‘farm to fork’ by our Head Chef Andy Millard and his enthusiastic kitchen team. Our menu is varied and seasonal, appealing to all tastes and includes Chef Specials, favourite traditional “pub classics” and Sunday roasts. We cater for different palettes and today’s changing tastes including children, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. As our dishes are prepared and cooked in house, we can usually accommodate most dietary needs.We pride ourselves on serving locally produced real ales. Our ales come from the excellent local microbreweries and are of a very high quality. We offer a range of good quality wines and spirits to compliment our menu.

We visited for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic ; great food (lamb was marvelous and apple crumble excellent) and attentive service ensured we had a memorably good meal, and will be returning1

Beautiful pub alongside the river. We were visiting the area for a few days and this was recommended. Glad it was. Nice atmosphere, the sort of place you wish was your local. Cute amd cosy bar area. Very busy for Sunday lunch. Fairly high prices but great quality food. Lamb was a bit undercooked for our liking, the rest was fantastic.

Sunday lunch with my grown up children. No less than 4 roasts to choose from aswell as vetetarian option plus fish. Great selection of starters and desserts too. I had the lamb which was superb - pink in the middle with a wide range of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. Again - all cooked to perfection. Daughter had chicken and my (difficult to please) son had a selection of 2 of the small plates with fries. Sat by the warm, roaring fire.

New Menu excellent , favourites and exciting new dishes . Another perfect meal , Fab fish cakes tamarind sauce and side salad perfect , Chicken cream pancetta tagliatelle wonderful and a lovely chocolate strawberry cheese cake , great beers and lovely viognier white , amazing friendly service , buzzy local atmosphere ....Spot on ! Thanks

This is my most favourite place ever to eat so being my 60th I was really looking forward to celebrating, however they had changed the menu and being quite a traditionalist I was disappointed to see my favourite things were no longer an option… Also on this occasion there was a noisy party of 8 behind us and we could hardly hear ourselves speak. On the plus side the staff and service were amazing as they always are and the two free birthday drinks were very much appreciated….. thank you

Hi Steph, thank you for the review, albeit 3* is harsh. We make changes to our main menu on a quarterly basis, based on seasonality, supplier availability, food costs and previous sales. Our talented culinary team appreciate new challenges, however, we always ensure that the key "gastropub classics" remain. If we took the easy option of reproducing the same old menu, our regular customer base would not be satisfied. Our menus are online to peruse and we can accommodate requests too. With regard to the table noise, our team was not aware of your discomfort and could have moved your booking to another table if requested. We are delighted that you appreciated the "amazing service" and your complimentary birthday drinks. We hope to welcome you back to the Nags Head in the near future.

We had a fabulous dining experience at The Nags Head. The menu is very varied with a separate, extensive veggie / vegan menu too. Excellent helpful service by the pleasant and friendly staff. The surroundings and atmosphere are relaxed and pleasant. This is pub dining at it's very best.
