    I had lunch at Napa Providence with a friend, and it was such a nice vibe. We sat out on the heated patio—such a great idea, especially when it’s chilly out. It felt super cozy, and we didn’t want to leave. Our server, Nick, was awesome. He was really on top of things, super helpful, and didn’t make us feel rushed at all—even though we ended up hanging out for a couple of hours just chatting. The food? So good. We both had the Napa salad, which is always light and fresh, and I couldn’t skip the French onion soup. It’s seriously become one of my go-tos. Perfect little bite when you’re not starving but want something warm and comforting.

    We were in a bit of a hurry as I had to catch a late night flight, so we accepted a table top at the bar instead of waiting for the dining room and our assigned reservation time. The staff was super accommodating. Our waitress was very prompt and attentive without being overbearing. Had the meatball appetizer, which was excellent. We both decided on the short rib and added a side order of the braised brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious. It was a great meal to end my visit to my niece in Charlotte.

    Lunch service typically is quick at restaurants. We arrived at 1230 for our reservation, ordered by 1245, and received our simple salads at 130 with zero explanation on why it took so long.

    If you get a chance to order the shrimp or scallops - do. I think NAPA cooks shrimp better than any restaurant in Charlotte, and the scallops were butter-tender.

    Most of us enjoyed our meals, especially—the small plates. The food is generally very good, but we had a couple of underwhelming entrees (Short Rib Benedict, overcooked breakfast potatoes). Overall we had a good experience. Hannah took good care of us and was so pleasant.

    The setting is very nice and the customer service is amazing. We had a wonderful server and he was very kind with helping us about options. The food is amazing! Only thing is that the wait for getting seated took a bit longer than expected but they did give us some champagne while we waited which helped a bit. It was definitely worth the wait and the calamari was amazing ! Definitely perfect for date night and can’t wait to go back!

    Overall great experience. The service was very solid and well executed. Our server made a lot of great menu and wine suggestions. We had booked the restaurant for an anniversary dinner and they were very kind to offer up a glass of bubbles and a nice note to us. The tartare to start was great, along with a Napa salad, bread service and cocktails. The duck and beef mains were both executed well and tasty, no complaints. Overall it’s a nice place for an occasion, probably a bit more than a casual night out choice for us personally.
