Nevedya is Food for the Spirit, an organic plant-focussed restaurant & cafe in the Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne. We serve wholefood vegetarian and vegan world cuisine with flavours from India, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and beyond. Our ingredients are healthy, ethical, organic, seasonal and showcase produce from local farms and growers.

Run by husband and wife duo Daniel and Shakti, it is an experience to bring you back to your true self. The food is a cleansing experience of reconnecting to nourishment at its untainted roots.

All the food is designed and created by female head chef Shakti Iyer with intention to nurture, transform and heal.

Inspired by Indian restaurants, Ayurveda and our travels throughout the world expect to taste our famous Ayurvedic khichadi, Sri Lankan masala dosa, world fusion tapas, plant-based all day breakfasts and our amazing organic and healthy desserts!

We can host private functions on Saturday afternoons from 3-6pm. You would have the whole outside Garden Oasis area to yourselves which fits about 50 people. You can put a bar tab on that would cover guests food and / or drinks, or guests can pay as they go as well.

Inside Floor Seating

Cozy cushioned Japanese style floor seating - flexibility required, you have to be able to sit cross-legged on the floor. Please note: This is a fabric heavy seating area which is hard to clean. It is not recommended for children 2-8 year olds.

I love the food at Nevedya and after a call out on socials for support I was glad to book a table for a leisurely Saturday brunch. We didn’t know there would be a time limit on our table and less than two hours into our sitting we were given the bill and asked to leave… NOW!. This came as a huge shock, and the delivery and timing was poor. Also, there was a large table in some kind of meditation/shakra/reiki/tea/smoke ceremony which we felt that by speaking, laughing or generally catching up we were deeply disrespecting/disrupting. It would be good to know when booking if there is some kind of event on as the vibe was a huge mismatch. Having said that, our server was polite, the khichadi is my favourite meal of all time and I’ll go back. Just some suggestions for an improved experience for all.

Hi Merrie. Thanks for the feedback regarding the tea ceremony we will consider that when planning events. Regarding your booking time - I checked the booking times and you had a 10.30am - 12.30pm booking. 2 hours is incredibly standard for any restaurant (especially on a busy Saturday lunch) and we would have politely let you know that we had another booking on your table after you. We took payment at 12.20pm so you would have vacated the table right at the last moment before the next booking arrived. Sorry this disappointed you.

We had a wonderful lunch at Nevedya today. We chose the Khichadi & dosa which was absolutely delicious. Our cold homemade drinks were also delicious. To finish with we had the Loco Love - Black Cherry & Raspberry with Schisandra chocolate bar, along with the most delicious iced chai! We were lucky to be seated out the back in the garden area, beside the pond. Our service was amazing. ‘Twas a fantastic experience, and look forward to visiting again very soon!

There isn’t another place like Nevedya. Being able to trust a restaurant to be using all the best ingredients, no bad oils, organic produce and sustainable trusted farms. The food is incredible and the drinks are just as good. With relaxed, easy and refreshing vibes, different seating options and a beautiful garden out back, this place is my favourite and I am so grateful to be able to visit!

I love this place! The food is truly amazing, so flavoursome and nutritious. It is a rarity to find an organic restaurant and I loved everything about it. The different areas all have a lovely feel, from the lower seated areas inside to the garden out the back. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Dining at Nevedya is always a beautiful experience. The food is nutritious, delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and the dining areas (inside, deck, and garden) are artistic and inviting.

Beautiful delicious food that looks amazing and the taste is just divine. Nourishing food for the soul. Staff are relaxed but attentive and the casual atmosphere makes for a great social catch up with friends or a quiet intimate dinner for two. Love this place!
