The newest creation from the owners of the beloved Villa Azteca in Downtown Salinas (Salinas City Center), the eatery honoring the Alvarez family patriarch will open Summer 2023 in Carmel Plaza. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant will have indoor dining, bar seating and a small outdoor space, serving specialty Michoacán dishes as well as other Mexican favorites, incorporating three generations of family recipes.

    Food was interesting and flavorful as always with excellent service and a festive and tasteful atmosphere for a lovely Valentine’s Day. We’ll be back ASAP. Will be back for churros, chicharrones and guacamole, and the mitaki birria. Incredible!!

    The most delicious Mexican food we loved it. We will visit here every time we are in Carmel. I ordered the short rib delicious and the guacamole and fresh corn tortillas are amazing.

    Felt like a more authentic Mexican experience than most - very flavorful food, very attentive and cordial service. Definitely taking things up a notch!!

    Carlos was our server, he was amazing! He’s very attentive and professional. 5 star for the chef and bartender too! Our food and drinks came out less than 15 minutes! Love the bone marrow shrimp and chicken enchiladas!! Everything was great, will definitely come back for food and service :)

    I did not actually dine here because we showed up at 7:10pm for our 7:15pm reservation and the restaurant was closed. Sign on the door with winter hours showed Dinner from 5-8pm.

    Nice ambience. Good margaritas. Ordered guacamole (delish) but when asked for salsa was told I could order “the trio” for $18 - no thank you! Shared fajitas which were good. Seems a bit overpriced for Mexican food

    Excellent meal with outstanding service. Much more interesting than what would be typical in a Mexican restaurant. Portions were generous with plenty to take home. Carlos, our server, guided us wonderfully to the specials of the day and we were very glad he did. We also were visited by the chef, Andres, so it shows how much quality he puts in his meals. Been there twice and I’ll certainly go again
