As San Antonio’s food scene continues to evolve, a new culinary hub is beginning to take shape downtown, where some might argue it all began. With signs of life stirring and anticipation building, the lights are officially back on in the historic Fairmount Hotel’s corner eatery. SILO Restaurants and Food Network Star runner-up and Executive Chef Luca Della Casa announce the opening of NONNA Osteria, offering artisan Northern Italian cuisine, honoring the regional traditions and heritage of Chef Della Casa’s homeland.

Delicious food, and our server was great. Only disappointment was the volume. We couldn’t hear our food server and we couldn’t hear the other couple we brought with us. (That is why we rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Beautifully presented food. The taste is best described as bland. The veggies were overly cooked. The wine by the glass menu was outdated so my glass was expensive for a small pour. The sea bass was perfectly cooked but drowned in a sauce that gave indigestion to all who ate the dish. The staff worked really hard to wait on all the tables.

My daughter and I came for her 18th birthday. I did let them know and they were so nice about wishing her happy birthday but weren’t overzealous about it to make her uncomfortable. Our waiter was so nice and told us about their menu and helped us decide what to get. The little bread with the olive paste was so good. My daughter had the bolognese and I had the lamb. It was so wonderful. They brought out a dessert for my daughter and lit one candle which was perfect for her. I am sad we don’t live in SA and could go more. I have already told everyone I know that if they go to SA, go to Nonna.

Everything was OKAY…. The pasta we got out server recommended which was the crab meat one and it was good not too bad but it wasn’t $70 it didn’t make me want to come back for it any time soon I’ll probably forget about this place in a week my husband got Bolognese which was good I kinda liked his better but was definitely bland overall I’ll give this place a 3.5 maybe 4 oh also fire alarm went off there was construction going on at the hotel

The food is delicious. The burrata with vegetables is great, the raviolis melt in your mouth and the tiramisu is so smooth and fluffy. Overall it was a great experience.

We had not been here in awhile, and it’s such a nice place. Our server was attentive and we shared the burrata salad and bolognese. The salad was excellent as the burrata was baked and slightly crispy, very different and yummy. The bolognese sauce was also very good. My only negative is that the wines are way overpriced, and the pour for a $16 glass of Chianti seemed like barely 5 ounces. My fiancé got a slight larger pour, but not much. That was disappointing.
