Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Rengaya is the restaurant foodies around the country have chosen.

    The freshly shucked Tasmania oysters we had this evening is of premium quality, fatty juicy tasty; the best we had this year so far and the dish of the night. O-Toro sashimi and A5 Kagoshima Wagyu are good as usual. The only let down for this evening is the matcha cheesecake; it’s a bit too dry and hard compared to what we had in previous visits. Good friendly service as always.

    Every thing is amazing and we had a great experience dinning at Rengaya. My first visit was 6 years ago and Rengaya is the place to go for special days ever since.

    What a great restaurant. I could highly recommend this for business lunches. The food is generous and fresh, and presented wonderfully. Nice booth setting create an intimate and good space for business lunches. We will definitely be returning.

    The manager, Mr. Taka yelled at us due the request for changing the table. He shouted us and kept mentioning he only follows the note and won’t change it. Who wants to stay in front of the rest room. He is so rude to be a manager of Japanese restaurant. Bad experience.
