Extremely disappointed. After reading all the good reviews, we were looking forward to our dinner at Nua. Our experience was not good.
The outdoor patio is nice, very pleasant, if a little noisy.
The Jerusalem bagel is a misnomer. It's not like any America bagel, its a loaf of bread, topped with sesame seeds. It was good. The accompanying tahina is good, but too small a portion. Worth ordering.
After that, it went downhill.
My wife ordered the Shuk Salad w/salmon. The Salmon was inedible, overcooked to the point where she couldn't cut it w/a knife. It was dry & basically terrible. The Shuk salad was overdressed, sopping in dressing, & pretty much inedible.
My Schnitzel was ok, not one of the best i have had. I did get the fries crisp, as i ordered them, & they were somewhat without salt, but did have traces of the paprika & some salt on them. i think they fried them in the same oil they fried the "normal" fries in, which left residuals of paprika & salt on them. They tried, but didn't really think this through.
the real disappointment was our waiter, Alexander W. He was inattentive, disappeared for a long time & didn't come by our table much. For example, i had to ask him 3 times for lemons for the schnitzel & it took way too long for him to finally get me the lemons when i was about done with my schnitzel. I had to ask another waiter for lemons. Our waiter Alexander come by our table, realized he didn't bring it, & then, too long after, only brought one wedge. I had to ask him for more.
I drink a lot of water, & when he took away our water bottle, he failed to replace it w/a full water bottle. Unacceptable. I finally got some more water after asking another server for it.
We had to ask multiple times for the bill, asking other waiters & then had to chase our waiter to get the bill & then chase him to pay it.
Even if this was an off night, this is unacceptable. We will not return & not recommend Nua.
