O-Ku's menu provides a fresh and innovative take on traditional Japanese sushi and cuisine. The South End restaurant offers rare and unique dining options along with traditional sashimi and specialty rolls, highlighting seafood from the finest fish markets in Tokyo and Hawaii alongside local and seasonal ingredients. Reminiscent of traditional Japanese culture, O-Ku's menu is comprised of signature starters, contemporary Japanese entrees and seasonal traditional sushi that reflect the uniquely designed space.

    We had a phenomenal celebration at O-ku this evening! Madison was so attentive and friendly and the GM stopped by occasionally to make sure we were having a fabulous time. They made sure to hype up our celebration with all of their personal touches. O-ku always knocks it out of the park! Thanks team!

    Our first time dining here. We were celebrating a birthday. The staff was amazing and food was awesome. They made such a big deal in a very classy way about the birthday boy. Really went above and beyond anything we have ever experienced to make sure my son’s 25th was special. What a special night. Highly recommend. We will absolutely be back. Thank you to the entire staff.

    Oku was FANTASTIC as always. Our server Kayla was so knowledgeable and sweet and provided great service. I got the lychee martini and my date got a cherry uzu (I’m 70% sure that’s the right name) mocktail. We got the south end shrimp roll which had bang bang shrimp on top and is one of their newer rolls. 10/10. We also got the mushroom and lobster dish. So good. Thanks Kayla and Oku for making our visit so special!!

    The duck buns were phenomenal, and the chicken teriyaki was also delicious. But I would be sure to ask your menu questions even if they seem silly.

    We had a reservation for a table of eight to celebrate a birthday. Overall, the food was good. However, the major downside was the service. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and the first dishes only started coming out after 50 minutes. This was on a Monday evening when the restaurant wasn’t very busy, and preparing nigiri and rolls shouldn’t take 50 minutes. The waitress hardly checked on our table. We requested an extra fork, but it was never brought to us. We had to repeatedly flag down other servers passing by to get any assistance. If the quality of service were improved, the restaurant would be much more appealing.

    Everything here was so fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully crafted. From the drinks to the nigiri to the sushi rolls… it was all so delicious. The staff were knowledgeable and personable. They really took the experience from great to incredible. Definitely found a new go to date spot - could not recommend O-Ku enough!

    We dined at OKu to celebrate my Birthday!! I must say our server and the staff were amazing! One complaint is that since it’s winter the main door lets cold air flow through the restaurant and I would suggest a solution on how the to prevent that from happening! Possibly a temporary cold weather door area of some sort.. OKu is a family favorite Charlotte / Charleston. Thank you for making my Birthday special!!
